Great shot, and a good idea to post to this topic.

There's certainly money in THIS.
Congratulations on your idea :)
And it's a very interesting shot, too! I like the way how the poppies fade due to the shallow depth of field. Gives you the impression how many there're.

I find the blurred big ones in the foreground really disturbing though.

Sorry, but I can't see what is unusual here. For me it is nothing but a very common daily scene.

The way you made this pic, standing on that position is unusual. A bit dangerous maybe, too: just before the doors will sliding to close.
I like this one. The crowded subway in contrast with the almost empty platform. The man in the train who's is looking in the direction of the camera from the corner of his eyes.
If I travel by subway, I always want to make photo's of the weird situation beiing with so many diffrent people in a tiny space and not interacting with eachother. In a subway, under the ground in a tunnel, it's worst then in a normal train or bus: you can't look outside. That's way the effect of people, strangly not really interacting, is even stronger. But... making random pictures... I'm afraid people think I'm weird.

I really wanted to vote for this picture as I think it's a really neat shot that made me have to look twice to work out exactly what was going on. The juxtaposition between the crowded subway and the emptiness of the platform is striking.
But in the end, I can't give it a vote in the "Unusual" category. I think you've got it in the wrong category. While the composition is definitely a bit unusual, I don't think the subject matter is. Put it under "Urban Life", and you've got a winner in my eyes.
