Hah... I'm not complaining at all (I have nothing against Photoshop in this context)... I'm just sharing thoughts... and I definitely enjoy when images cause discussion like this. ;)

The giveaway for me (aside from the lack of reflection that Eggplant mentioned) was the source of the light... The light on the animal seems very clean and directional (coming in from the upper-left), but the light on the window seems like it was coming from a different direction or was maybe diffused through some light clouds. And there would probably be a shadow on the tip of the nose, since it's inside the dark room a bit.

I also think the "fuzz" on the chin looks somewhat cropped... In real life it might stick out a little and overlap with the background more.

I definitely give it marks for sense of humor. Good stuff.

(BTW, I didn't mean to leave out Beckn32, who also mentioned the reflection.)

@lbstone - thanks a lot for taking the time and pointing out all the things i forgot to take care of while composing this picture. i appreciate that kind of constructive criticism a lot!
greetings, kurt

Two folding chairs with a vignette... yippee. Doesn't do much for me.

forgingahead (Bob Foss) said 1 year ago:

I like the colors and overall softness of this image, which seems relaxing, like I have not a care in the world while lounging at the beach.

bigoode (Anthony le Bourlier) said 1 year ago:

old known effect but very well choice for these two empty chairs
Shine on

Dan - I find your comment both rude and offensive. A critique was not requested and no one asked "what it did for you." Do what "dear old mom" always says "if you cannot say something nice, dont say anything at all."

Richard - I love the idea here, the relaxing nature it provokes, the thoughts of summer and fun. Nice capture!

belle photo. Avec une jolie lumiere nocturne. Cadrage tres reussi

thoughtdujour (thought du jour) said 1 year ago:

nice catch! I feel as if I am looking out the window myself and spying upon woman and child!

Did (Didier Toulouze) said 1 year ago:

Thanks a lot for your comments and everyone who voted for this picture and made it featured ! This is my first one :-D

Florence, you're right about the light but it was not by night but during a very strong storm. The sky was so dark that the street lighting ignited.

This is a great shot for the topic...a real natural. It does appear to me, however, that your sensor may need cleaning (or did when this shot was taken) as there is one very noticable spot just to the right of the upper portion of the arch.

digitalchemy (A J Gunawan) said 1 year ago:

thank you very much bob, for your comment and suggestion, really appreciate it. sensor cleaned!

Car is nice, but not prominent. I would crop a lot tighter, if you want a portrait of the car.... Here there is too much to look at.

forgingahead (Bob Foss) added a critique 1 year ago:

Along the same lines as Clyde has mentioned...the bench seems to be part of the car and the looks to be sprouting from the top of the car.

what´s the picture here?

Photographer's Note: This is a the Market Street in Harrisburg PA. spanning the Susquehanna River taken in 2003

forgingahead (Bob Foss) said 1 year ago:

I have photographed these bridges, great subject material for the topic. But these colors are...well...can I say psychedelic?

jimiflix (JiMi! FLiX!) said 1 year ago:

...yeah! But no, I wasn't on acid! Just a little photoshopping "imaginating". Don't know if it works, aesthetically, but as a child of the 60's, I kind of dig it.

forgingahead (Bob Foss) said 1 year ago:

Your picture prompted me to pull one from my archives of the same set of bridges:

vazaar.com/topic:arches/photos/id:15514/

I like to see different takes on the same subjects.

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) said 1 year ago:

aerial view of road and some sort of tanks in the snow...?

forgingahead (Bob Foss) said 1 year ago:

Hard to describe what this is. Taken from 40th floor of Corning Tower in Albany, NY. The large round things are air intakes for a large complex of buildings. The curvy white things are bushes with snow on them, and then there is the road.
