That's funny ! I just posted a picture from the exact same spot !! :-))
I just simply love this place...
Nice capture from the children at play.
How did you like Bordeaux ? (it's my home town ;) )
taikrixel (thomas mueller) added a critique 10 months ago:
brilliant with the reflections, but i think the image turns to the left!?
ericfish added a critique 10 months ago:
nice one.
I am thinking maybe you can go more closer, include less sky and more reflection.
narnold (Noah Arnold) added a critique 8 months ago:
I love the reflections...great shot!

Wonderful shot.
I agree, you broke the rule of thirds, but it works well in this shot IMO!

i love this image, i think its perfect! i just wish you would have captured a bit more of the sky.
duboaa (alex) said 1 year ago:
Perfect?? Whaow..Keep it easy! I was not expecting that much ;p
Thank you very much!
Because of the flat aspect of the sky, I have chosen to put it over the frame...
(sorry for my poor english hihi)

I love that it's done in B&W, and the reflection is perfect! I love it.

Nice use of DOF, nice lighting, interesting subject. Part of the subject being cropped off ruins the whole photo for me. Actually the more I look at it the more the DOF looks off to me. Was the background blurred post processing?
Myke (Michael) added a critique 1 year ago:
Nice colours but I agree with above comments. Would be nice not to have cropped as tightly and a bit more focus would work well if possible.
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree about the framing would be better a little looser. I'm not sure I would have put this one in "Rust", there isn't really much rust on this, more of a patina I would call it. This might do better in "Shallow DOF".
rdavs (Rhonda Spencer) added a critique 1 year ago:
My mind questions the doorknob handle falling out of the frame to the left, the slight bit that is missing draws my eye. And now for the positive- the warm colors are wonderful and the subject matter is interesting.
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 10 months ago:
This just misses being a great capture. Great colors and decent composition. The lower portion of the photo leaves something to be desired.

Thanks to all of you for your comments. I totally agree with you: This leaf needs more DOF....I've been betrayed by my 50mm f/1.8 !!!

the colors are great! would love to see more dof. great job!

I really like how the green stands alone. Can you tell me what DOF is though?
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 10 months ago:
Very lovely colors and composition. I think the dof is good, but a little more would be better.

Nice texture and exposure.
indosmoke6801 added a critique 1 year ago:
i love all the detail & texture! b&W was the only way for this shot.

Very beautiful B&W...reminds me some of Salgado. It will be cool if you could share with us some detail on the process...
Great job!
PhotoDaniels (Stephanie Daniels) added a critique 1 year ago:
The thumbnail of this image doesnt' do it justice! You can't see the texture until you click on it to see it bigger like this! I love it! This is very nice!!!

Diezel99 has a similar scene in color. Looking at both I do like the B&W. I would like to see it shot through a red filter and down two stops. The white tree at the end is a nice touch.
bigoode (Anthony le Bourlier) said 1 year ago:
Thanks Diezel99
Thanks tzirlott, i'll think about it. It's a very interesting comment
soreks (Fedor Soreks) added a critique 1 year ago:
I have a gripe with composition: partially cropped tree on the left and space on the side of the tree to the right. Otherwise it's great.
Colors are ok, a bit more contrast would provide an enhancement.
Sonoma added a critique 11 months ago:
LOVE IT! It has a cool, snowy feel. I can't describe it. Crisp & clean. Excellent!

Thanks Soreks, checked, i'll take care next time
Thanks Sonoma, i love when we're lost in front of a pix ;-)

the white bar is actually the frame to the mirror. thank you though.
duboaa (alex) added a critique 1 year ago:
I love this kind of photo, espacially for the mood (as soreks), reinforced by the blurry figure of your model. Two (little bad) things, IMHO : the white bar (as soreks said) and the four-fingers hand...where is its thumb??? ;p
Great photo!
Neuner added a critique 1 year ago:
I really like the pose & composition, however I'd like to see her face lit up more and the candles & frame not so bright. I think they take away from the main subject.
PhotoDaniels (Stephanie Daniels) added a critique 1 year ago:
I really like this shot! I vote for keeping the frame because it's a reflection and I just like photos like that! I love the blurriness of the model. Can the candles be toned down a bit? I think so, too - maybe even the whiteness of the frame (eventhough I like it in there) cause I gotta agree that I want to see her first but I'm distracted by their brightness. Overall, this is an excellent image!!
selaux (Sarah) added a critique 11 months ago:
I dont know if it's because im not as technically advanced as everyone else (still a student) but I think that everything in this shot works well. I love the white bar, the candles and the high contrast black and white.

Same shot.
converted to B&W with a lens barrel distortion fix...
KerriDoodle (Kerri) said 1 year ago:
Bravo! Fits the topic perfectly, and I like it in B&W, much better, I must say. Love the cracks and texture.
My only technical comment would be regarding the slight pixelation above the first two silos.
I really like how the flour painting really stands out now.
Being that you're from Idaho, I hope that you checked out that link to David Plowden's web site. He has some amazing photos under the 'Rural America' tab.
duboaa (alex) said 1 year ago:
I have seen the color version of it. I rather prefer this one. But the third silo is cropped by the frame and, ok, it's not the topic (three) but the star on top is masked by this same silo. Whatever, I really like the B&W texture!
mikeock (Mike Adams) said 1 year ago:
KerriDoodle,
Thanks for the great comment.
I think the pixelation happened when i did a barrel distortion fix.
I didn't even notice till you said something.
I will clone that out and re-post when i get a chance.
duboaa ,
Thanks for the comment.
The third one is cropped due to lens distortion fix.
I had to crop the pipe at top to get the silos to have an even horizon.
Glad you liked this!
Hope to see more comments in the future!
