Masterful. The only distracting element is the slightly leaning pillar on the left; could be just my eyes (I do have astigmatism).

deloscampos (Sébastien Déchamps) said 1 year ago:

Thanks for (all) your comments Lolly. You're right, the leftest pillar is slighlty leaning.
Sébastien.

Tease!

deloscampos (Sébastien Déchamps) said 1 year ago:

I usually love "missing parts" portraits but this one is going a little too far, especially on the face part.
Sébastien.

VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) said 1 year ago:

@sébastien
thanks for your feedback.
this pic here is not a portrait. the main "actor" is not the face. :-)

SusanJones (Susan Jones) said 1 year ago:

This pic evokes a tension and mystery, I want to know 'whats next? I adore it!

duncmc (Duncan McMillan) added a critique 1 year ago:

Great geometry - well spotted! Perhaps the red is a little oversaturated for my taste, but otherwise the colours and composition work well.

deloscampos (Sébastien Déchamps) added a critique 1 year ago:

Interesting mix of strong "popping" colors with mild "milky" tones. I love it.
I also really like the geometrical games of the lines and the volumes induced by the dark parts and lines of the image.
Very well done.
Sébastien.

Eyeseethings added a critique 1 year ago:

Everything is spot on here. Great colour , framing , focus etc . I would be very proud if I had taken this picture .

aldamir (di Carlo Darsa sandro) added a critique 1 year ago:

Very nice though the background is a little too visually disturbing.
And the blurred leathes on the left are unforgivable :(
Sébastien.

silenzioso (alberto) said 1 year ago:

great picture, but I would cut off all the left half!

tulna (Tulna Chauhan) said 1 year ago:

I like the shot but agree about the busy background.

deloscampos (Sébastien Déchamps) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like the composition (what about a straight square format?). But i tend to firmly disagree with the processing: too orange, "melts" the contrast and the tones together.
Sébastien.

dcrphotography (Daniel) added a critique 1 year ago:

I don't think the orange toning gives this a vintage look.

jeninja-inja (Jenine Lindeque) added a critique 1 year ago:

nice one paul, trains always have such a liminal quality about them.

spherop (Daniel Newman) added a critique 1 year ago:

would love to see this with more of a sepia coloring...a little less bright - more understated. i do think the capture really evokes an age past though.

odon (Odon Dias) added a critique 1 year ago:

Nice. This makes me think about the original lighting.

Superb! I love the way the face is transformed into a mask. Incredible light. Congrats.
Sébastien.

doilyboy (Martin Grey Gottlieb) added a critique 1 year ago:

Love this! It has a beginning middle and end. And I think the 3rd frame is the same area, yes? Just that we're seeing the train (frozen) leaving frame.

Might be fun to use the 4th frame also as the 1st (total of 5 frames) making a nice bookend.

Paulforrester (Paul Forrester) added a critique 1 year ago:

nice-but then again your submissions always are-well done

dcrphotography (Daniel) added a critique 1 year ago:

Oh, that is very nice!

deloscampos (Sébastien Déchamps) added a critique 1 year ago:

Cool idea that makes a great quadriptych.
I'll just complain about the usage of the sharpening filter that is wayyy too strong and the shadowed frames that are not really fitting the global style of the photograph.
Sébastien.

jsmanseau added a critique 1 year ago:

great concept for this...wouldn't of thought to do a series of photos. Very nice. Love the reflection in the first frame on the window.

Love this

ArneG (Arne Gulstene) said 1 year ago:

This one will hit the front page too.

Jay said 1 year ago:

That'd be nice - although the flats are slightly more minimal this is more conventional...

deloscampos (Sébastien Déchamps) said 1 year ago:

Roadsigns, geometry and vivid colours, the kind of pic I enjoy taking! Really nicely made.
Sébastien.

KidJim (Jean Marc Veliscek) added a critique 1 year ago:

Great image !! Love the high-lights and the tilt - to me ,-and on a "technical" matter, this is what mainly creates this kind of 60's feeling (nostalgic and retro) even more than the color process..

doilyboy (Martin Grey Gottlieb) added a critique 1 year ago:

I really like this one. It very much felt like the over saturated 60's. The balls are grat and the DOF is nice as well. The only thing bothering me is the right side object, not sure what that is, but i want to see the lanes instead.

Paulforrester (Paul Forrester) added a critique 1 year ago:

nice-i like this picture and do get a 60's feel from it-i do agree with Martin on the right side object-but well done

Blizzard (Beef Jerky) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like this a lot!
I wished the bowling balls were in pastel colors, but that's just me. I still love the overall feel of this photo. Makes me want to go bowling. :)

deloscampos (Sébastien Déchamps) added a critique 1 year ago:

Two complaints:
1. why did you keep this annoying grey circle on the right?
2. I'd have chose a very slightly lower angle to cut a very little more the green upper part which seems too heavy to me.
Apart from that, everything is fine to me, i like the dynamism of the composition.
Sébastien.
