I love this view. It looks like a place, I would enjoy to visit. I also like, that you captured so many birds on this shot.

cheguillaume (Pierre-Yves cheguillaume) said 1 year ago:

Thanks Sabine, It has been shot @ St James Park in London in March ;)

hehe,
perhaps gimp has forgot to convert some areas? :)
I like it as it is. with the rust, which makes it authentic.

cheguillaume (Pierre-Yves cheguillaume) said 1 year ago:

Thanks Vernon. I'll check with another soft for b&w conversion.

manickavelu (velu) added a critique 1 year ago:

i like it the way it is. The hint if rust adds to the quality of the image I think.

simple, lovely

The framing of this image just doesn't do it for me. There is nothing of interest in the left half of the image. I would suggest you make this into a vertical crop - I love the color of the fountain.

Nice sky, but I don't know if this works in the theme. There is some light but no real shadow, only silhouette. It is very dark. I would rather see the main subject removed and see more sky and submit in the skyscapes theme.

cheguillaume (Pierre-Yves cheguillaume) said 1 year ago:

yes I think you're right. I was not really sure on which topic to post . I've hesitated. That's why I wanted comments on this one. Thanks

jaapv added a critique 1 year ago:

It is a bit of two different things. There is a silhouette, but it is overpowered by a dark sky. There is a dramatic sky but it is obcured by the silhouette. Maybe you can play with it in postprocessing to create more seperation.

cheguillaume (Pierre-Yves cheguillaume) said 1 year ago:

Thanks jaapv for your comment. I think (I'm sure now) I've made a big mistake in posting in this topic. The silhouette is too big and does not fit to the topic.

hah, was it stolen? or did they take the wheel with them to keep it safe? lol! i like the contrast of the bike frame with the shape of the fence.

cheguillaume (Pierre-Yves cheguillaume) said 1 year ago:

Thanks jangetagrip. Yes in Paris, it's a minimum if you want to keep your bike safe. Sometimes people take the 2 wheels with them....just in case

oh this is interesting! i guess it would have looked good in colour too actually. its interesting how that little block of in the centre of the bottom isnt reflecting anything, i guess because of no windows?

Bastian (Bastian Löhrer) added a critique 1 year ago:

I love these reflections!
The photo would be nicer if taken from a position farer away with a telephoto lens, but that was probably not possible.
I'm not completely satisfied with the composition.

SeekingFocus (Jason Langley) added a critique 1 year ago:

Wow, those are some impressive reflections.

The bottom half of the frame seems rather flat, though I love the light reflected from the windows to the ground.

Laurie (Laurie) added a critique 1 year ago:

Beautiful reflections, but I focused so much on the sculpture that I had to look at the topic to realize what the theme was supposed to be. (I used the Critique Request option to view photos.)

anatoliy (Anatoliy) added a critique 1 year ago:

Seems that you used really wide-angle lens. Very interesting shot, good b&w choice.

cheguillaume (Pierre-Yves cheguillaume) said 1 year ago:

Thanks all for your comments. For Laurie, the sculpture was is front of the building and can't "escape" from it. For anatoliy yes it's a 10-22mm.

Thanks all !!! gembase it's not Big Ben, it's the clock of the Train station in Paris named "Gare de Lyon"

desole j'ai pas reconnu ...
So now I will go to sleep less dumb than yesterday :-)

KidJim (Jean Marc Veliscek) added a critique 1 year ago:

ah, du coup j'avais pensé au big ben aussi !!!
;-))
Bonne image - l'idée du gadrillage est sympa et donne un bon rendu - difficile de donner des suggestions ou idées.., peut-être aurai je essayé un cadrage plus serré et une densité du ciel plus élevée dans PS, mais cela n'engage que moi.. ;-)

Butter (Lukas K) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like this shot, but I agree that the lines lead me out of the subject.

Maybe if the frame was a little lower and I got to see more of the building it would be more powerful.

twoforks (Ben Thomas) added a critique 1 year ago:

great
