I love the freckles... the shadows on the face and light in the eyes is perfect.
The vignetting off to the left feels a little unnatural or forced to me. You might even consider going square with this and cutting off the extra space on the left.
Regardless, good stuff.

Very nice portrait. The B&W processing to bring out the details on the right gives a feeling of age and wisdom without making the picture unflattering.
Since Brandon pointed it out, I played with it a little by resizing my browser. Cropping out the black on the left seems to open up the shadows. On the other hand, the out of focus lines become distracting if they hit the edge of the frame. I think I preferred a balance with about half as much black, but it's all a mater of taste.

Unlike Brandon, I'm all for the dark space on the left, as it gives me some space to breath. I just wish the right cheek was a bit darker so that I could see the freckles. Other than that I love this photo!

Thank you guys. Your comments are really appreciated. I was thinking about cropping to square, but decided against it. Like Andreas said I like space and did not think that square would work here, thats why made little light background darker to bring out the face and eyes. Thank you.

don't even think about cropping this, it would lose al it's power! :-) it's good as it is

beautiful portrait. the light works perfect and i like the crop, because of thinking there's something more than a person. well done!

What's not to like about this. An excellent portrait. Cropped to perfection. Sharp as atack with perfect background blur.
