Thanks Scott! I'm a bit surprised this got featured so quickly. But I must give special credit to my wife for putting up with the cold and my repeated attempts to get the light just right.

Thanks Anna and Ron. I appreciate the feedback.

soyrosa added a critique 1 year ago:

Oh man, she looks sweet! Adorable, really :) It can be minimalistic because of the relative small space she takes in this picture, though you could have strongened the effect by adding some white space on the left and on top (just open a new document in photoshop which is bigger than the picture, copy/paste end blur the spots that doesn't fit the white). But I love the picture the way it is now :)

byutanner (Jason Tanner) said 1 year ago:

Thanks Soyrosa. That's a good thought. I could set it to a neutral since around her isn't blown out either. Thanks!

It's a beautiful portrait of your niece. Nothing to be critical of from my point of view. Nice work Jason!

I really like this shot. I just wish it were a little sharper. But I think it was shot fine, just needs a little PP.

jodosh (Johnny Haddock) said 7 months ago:

the lack of sharpness is actually grain from using ISO 800 film. This was taken with my Nikon f1. I digitized it with my d80. I can sent you the raw file to see what you can do, but I can't get it any sharper with my pp skills.

Great angle! Where was this taken?

niguez (Andrés Ñíguez) said 1 year ago:

Gracias Dennis.
Esta fotografía está hecha en Salamanca (Spain). Es el Río Duero en el paraje que se conoce como "Arribes del Duero". Si quieres ver más imágenes de esta zona, puedes visitar mi página:

Amazing landscape, the angle works excellent for this view.

diezel99 added a critique 1 year ago:

Very cool shot, nice clearity but the colours could be more vibrant. Not sure I like the bright reflection in the water.

DarcoTT (Darco TT) added a critique 8 months ago:

Es un lugar impresionante. A mi me encanta visitarlo y de la última vez hace ya demasiado tiempo (y tengo muy pocas fotos).

I like this as well. I love the tones. Gritty fits right into the theme.

@goodlife,

This is a bar in downtown New Orleans that never reopened after the storm (Katrina).

Here's another holga shot looking up from the same location:

@everyone

Thanks for all the comments!

Andy added a critique 1 year ago:

I do like Holga shots. I love the high contrast and vignette. The only thing I would consider is getting the entire door in the frame and trying to get the vertical lines more exact. Great shot though.

byutanner (Jason Tanner) added a critique 1 year ago:

What is different with a Holga? I don't have any experience with them...

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 9 months ago:

Great work - a little straightening would help, i guess - regardless, however, this is a strong comp. and perfect for the category.

Cheers,
Jon
