Wow. This one really caught my eye. The 3 similar, yet very distinct colors, and the way it's done just seems like something out of a western. Awesome job.

A great composition. The rain drops in the stone are beautiful!!
burlesot (Todd Burleson) added a critique 10 months ago:
Strong emotions are created by this image. I agree that the raindrops make the stone look even more alive.

Pindakaas (Maartje) said 9 months ago:
at least its good sharp ;-) from beak to eye, nice!
very natural in light, I love how the first feathers come out so well.
was this a wild bird?
it puzzles me, is it a peregrin or a lanner? or none of both :p
JeBeKe (Jan Verbeke) said 9 months ago:
@Pindakaas: Shot with a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM. A new Canon shop (www.canonline.be/) opened his doors at Boezinge (near Ieper). You could try all lenses for free. To enhance the quality of the trial, they arranged a birds show so you could take pictures of the birdies to get a feeling about the quality of the Canon stuff.
It's a Falco Perigrinus
You can find more pictures of the birds at my photoblog

I had the same thought in regards to that dark tree - hate messing about with nature sometimes:-)

This is a great picture! I don't mind the dark tree so much. Nature is imperfect and beautiful at the same time.

Geo,
Unusual perspective on this one. I love the light on the little pearls in the bottom left of the photograph. Nice job.

What was your goal with this image? I think the angle is interesting, but I am not thrilled with the composition. Just my humble opinion. I would also suggest that you did not use the flash head on as it appears.

Mardynn (Martin Tomaszczyk) added a critique 9 months ago:
I like the sharpness of this image, I think it would have worked better without a flash, and a better composition.

Really like this shot!! Colours and ice blend perfectly. As well the running water add so much to the general feeling of ice @ water :) Keep the shutter clicken :)

Awesome! How did you get such depth in te color in the sky and in the detail of the foreground?
T
nattfodd (Alexandre Buisse) said 9 months ago:
Thanks Todd. It's a HDR photo from three exposures, I would have had no chance to record that amount of details in such a contrasty scene otherwise.
burlesot (Todd Burleson) said 9 months ago:
I thought it might have been. Well executed!

I also agree with comments above but it is a great shot
