very nice shot. I really like the composition and the color.
The picture is very sharp where it's needed with some blur for the movement...
Another fav ! :-)

Oh my! where were u standing when you shot this? i just dont like the look in its eyes, very menacing.
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 8 months ago:
Great shot - I would have cropped it even tighter to emphasize the natural V of the tree.
Best,
Jon

Sencillamente estupenda. Felicidades.

I assume this is a zoo shot, if not please correct me. It really doesn't matter I just like to know when I am critiquing a shot in this Topic. So for my initial comments, I will assume that it is:
The highlights are quite blown out in the sky. That bright area really draws my eye away from the cat's face. The cat seems to be stationary, so a couple of stops more closed might have allowed you to control the exposure better without widening the DoF too much?
I am not a fan of the strong border, but, I am also not a fan of this site's white background. So, I won't fault you for the border. I agree with Jon about the framing/cropping. A bit tighter an you could loose that ugly knuckle in the lower left. This would probably work great as a square crop with the face off center to include the whole body side.
You controlled the focus and DoF nicely here, IMO.

The EXIF are: ISO1250, f/3.5 and 1/30s. without tripod, so the original picture was really noisy and dark. It was taken really late at the afternoon. I had to use an aggressive treatment to reduce noise, that's why the focus is too soft.
Thanks for your comments! :D

I think the composition is perfect.
I like a lot.
willie_901 (william) added a critique 11 months ago:
Here's something to think about.
Start with the original image and convert it to B&W. You can use much less the noise reduction and retain most of the originals' detail.
bradford (Bradford Levine) added a critique 11 months ago:
I agree with the idea of going B&W and maybe upping the contrast some. Great composition and a like the hint of a smile on his face.

Comparto la opinion expuesta por Andy. Además me gusta esta fotografia por el equilibrio tonal conseguido. Considero muy acertado el detalle de dejar perder la mano entre las flores ya que aporta el detalle de fondo. Saludos

White balance is off. Needs to be warmed up alittle.
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 8 months ago:
Ron is correct - the color balance is off; this is why this photo works!

Jon

my only whish: a bit more light on right part of her face.
sumedh07 (Sumedh Prasad) added a critique 8 months ago:
Fabulous; what I love most about the composition, apart from the authenticity and the natural animated disposition, is its symbolism; she is as fresh as the daisies she's holding. brilliant!

I like how the Harley is the focal point. I might crop the picture on the right side up to the edge of the wall.

I have an interesting reaction to this photo and wonder if others have a similar response. Although the bike and rider seem to be the object of the photo since they are so prominent and the background is blurred a bit, given the strong S curve of the road, my eye keeps wandering away from the bike and down that wonderful curve. One could argue that such a response goes well with the photo because the man's line of sight seems to be heading in the same direction. However, it is a bit unnerving to have your line of vision constantly fleeing to the background and out of the frame. The focal point of the whole picture for me is the off-colored barrier along the blurred stretch of road just before the road bends out of the photo. I doubt that is your intention.
gazdi (Csaba Bobák) added a critique 11 months ago:
Following the course of Jeff's critique: exactly this leading of the views' eyes is what makes this photo a road shot instead of a bike-and-rider shot, for me at least. This is why I feel it very much on-topic. And being able to express the theme with something that is born in the view's mind (instead of something that is directly included in the frame) is a great talent.
alira (Arkaitz Lira) added a critique 11 months ago:
I love it, all the elements are perfectly ubicated. I would like to see a B/W version too.
In my opinion i would use a little more depth of field to integrate the background with the rider and the bike because the curve seems to be a little blurry at the end.
Anyway, i like it a lot.
blaze883r (Fernando Bordallo) said 11 months ago:
Jeff, in fact, that was exactly my intention, and as gazdi says, that's why I put this pic on this topic.
I'm very glad you like it, and thank you very much for your comments.
Alira, if you want I would try to make a B/W versión, but I think it won't work as good, because the lightning isn't interesting enough and the poor contrast. If anybody is interested on it, just send me a messagge, and I will work on it!
Thanks you all.

Taken with a Pentax Optio 33L. Just as you see. No crop, no levels, no contrast... Exactly as you see.
Very beautiful. Everything about it!!! The colors are so rich and the shot is beautiful!
