Very interesting subject matter! Nice use of grayscale and the comp. is great. Thanks for sharing.
Best,

I agree, a wonderful use of grayscale. The shot reminds me of games I would play as a child. Good job getting a lot of feeling and mood in your picture.
The only suggestion I can think of would be to crop out 15px or so from the top so that there isn't that really thin white space at the center that doesn't add anything to the picture IMO.

Yes, I also think that this is a very strong shot. Good composition backed up with nice use of dof to keep reasonable sharpness and good textures and detail right across the frame. Well done.
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 6 months ago:
Nice shot, agree with above. Great tonal range on this one. Feels more like "Abandoned Places" than "Empty spaces". Might try it there also.

Diezel99 has a similar scene in color. Looking at both I do like the B&W. I would like to see it shot through a red filter and down two stops. The white tree at the end is a nice touch.

Thanks Diezel99
Thanks tzirlott, i'll think about it. It's a very interesting comment

I have a gripe with composition: partially cropped tree on the left and space on the side of the tree to the right. Otherwise it's great.
Colors are ok, a bit more contrast would provide an enhancement.

LOVE IT! It has a cool, snowy feel. I can't describe it. Crisp & clean. Excellent!

I love this, the crazy clouds as a backdrop to the lamp. The blue is fantastic.

I agree with the above, lack of contrast, for me, makes it had to find anything to focus on. Maybe a closer crop could help?
effraie added a critique 1 year ago:
no lack of contrast for me, nice shot, nice b&w.
Maybe a squarred crop, with a bit more dark on the top, and less on both sides would match better imho.
ambrosiastar (Ambrosia) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree with the above. The contrast could be fixed, but I don't think I'd do a squared crop, I think I'd like a longer crop... I do agree it needs less on the sides of the picture.. It's almost too distracting. I love the feel of it though. It's like going to adrug deal you know will go bad, or seeing a friend that seems to be in a bad place in their life, but you want to help.
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 1 year ago:
Agree with most of what has been said.
As for the vintage nature of this shot: my impression of most older photos are that they are harsh and yet blurred to some extent, especially in terms of lens distortion. Maybe playing around with some vignetting both in value and sharpness. The contrast will also make it seem older.
