@diezel99, did you notice the topic?? "Abstract Objects" I understand you comment, but for this topic, I think what you describe as not liking is exactly what the topic intended.

aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) added a critique 1 year ago:

I really like this one, Beamer. The whispy nature just adds to the flow of the colors. And I agree that it is better on your website with the dark gray background. (I might also add, it's a pretty creative use for "a bunch of cables in the equipment room of a computer graphics studio.")

lolly (lolly smits) added a critique 1 year ago:

Interesting, painting, can see it on my wall.

Sher (Sher Hilliard) added a critique 1 year ago:

Wonderful abstract Beamer. Abstract is your interpretation of the subject, not someone elses. Nice capture!

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 5 months ago:

Clyde,

This works for me - strong composition and very nice work overall!

Thanks for sharing these two examples of some of your abstract work; a good encouragement for me.

Very strong image. Almost belongs under the topic "a shot with a story" and I'm sure its a sad story. The lighting for me, is perfect. I love it.

diezel99 added a critique 1 year ago:

A very powerful and moving image.......it tells a story.

Ludimaginary (Richard Vantielcke) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like the lines in this picture..

what's the story behind the image?

Hanssie (Hans Stellingwerf) added a critique 7 months ago:

Like others already mentioned, a crop in the top, or bottom but..... this scene is so beautiful....

Lets see - small, very cute, furry, shiny black eyes. Looks a-ok to me. He / she definetly has star appeal.

Damo (Damo) said 1 year ago:

Thanks guys, her name is Holly, and she is a bit of a poser ! :o) The photo was taken on my bed, as she was sitting on her log, I was ready with the camera, and when she stood up like that I quickly took the shot. Oh it was taken with a EOS 300D with the kit lens (18-55.

weeneydog (Keith Johnson) added a critique 1 year ago:

APBob (Bob Eddings) added a critique 1 year ago:

While I think the light all around the room is very nice, the light coming from the window is harsh and dominating compared to the rest of the image and detracts from the overall composition. I'd crop the top and right to solve this problem, and I think you'll end up with a better composition by eliminating some of the height that's currently not contributing much.

coolpixeler (Michel Maquet) added a critique 1 year ago:

Brillant capture. the eye has many reasons too walk in the picture. The sources of light doesn't interfere, very good job.
Although the chair is well defined by its steel frame, i think that a little more light on the back of the chair could be added.

kokii (Dana K) added a critique 1 year ago:

like the athmosphere of the picture and the green stripe of wall aroung the door. almost feel like being there

florence (flo g florence) added a critique 1 year ago:

very nice but I think I prefere it in square, top of this photo can be elliminated. However, very nice colours and atmosphere

LadyWings (Kara Brothers) said 1 year ago:

If I crop out the top, I'll lose everything I was trying to capture. I wanted the size of the room to show, along with the natural light.

Interesting, would like to see more contrast.

palves (Pedro Alves) added a critique 1 year ago:

Good picture, but perhaps to much blue.

azurepro added a critique 1 year ago:

I like the blue, it adds to the surreal feeling.

thnaks Susan, I just come from my holidays so I just have seen your comment, and yes, that was my intention on this photo, thanks again

TammyLynn (Tammy) added a critique 1 year ago:

Lovely photograph of a child. I feel it would be more powerful if the hair wasn't blown out and some of the left side of the photograph cropped off so that the child was in the right third of the photo instead of the right fourth.

ties (Ties Dufraing) added a critique 1 year ago:

i think a classical 3/4 dimension or even a square could've worked better, but i absolutely love the scene. the bright child against the water is simply beautiful!

azurepro added a critique 1 year ago:

I agree, a cropped square would have worked better for me, but lovely idea and colouring.

chromadreams (David) said 1 year ago:

thanks for your comments, but really I don't think a square format would be better, well it's just about taste I think.

This is the image with the "glare" removed as suggested.

Marc added a critique 1 year ago:

Yep I defenitely think this one is better. The contrast between the red and green colours comes out more. The only thing that I think is a problem is that the hand is too close too the lips, which distracts a bit, but it's a good shot and interesting treatment.

sniker added a critique 1 year ago:

Very well done. I like this much better now!

neutralhills ,

Thanks for the comment.
I am using the rest of the family to practice my portrait work.
This is an area that I am really lacking so using the family as free models is great.
Plus I am learning how to keep a little kid interested in what is happening!

diezel99 added a critique 1 year ago:

Good picture, makes me smile I have one just like it and I think every parent should have a mess like this to clean.

It is from the carwash ..it is the carwash brush against the window .. my friend drove and I took shots.I had always wanted to do that... thanks for your comments and critques:)

uncommondepth (Roberta Murray) added a critique 1 year ago:

I think this is terrific. It was difficult to figure out what it was, other than something underneath wet glass. I like the contrast and colors as they are. The image has a fresh, clean, delicate feeling to it - reminds me of a spa for some reason! Pushing the contrast may change that feeling. I like the image as is.

azurepro added a critique 1 year ago:
