Great detail and color. DoF is good too.

austriaka (Karin) said 8 months ago:

thank you Jeff!
I was lucky since this one was not shy at all

Wonderful. Love the detail.

I had the same thought in regards to that dark tree - hate messing about with nature sometimes:-)

Best,
Jon

i just want to say : wouw

jellybino (Robyn Shaw) added a critique 8 months ago:

This is a great picture! I don't mind the dark tree so much. Nature is imperfect and beautiful at the same time.

burlesot (Todd Burleson) added a critique 8 months ago:

I enjoy this image a lot. I like the warmth of he colors and the sharp contrast of the snow.

narnold (Noah Arnold) added a critique 7 months ago:

I love the contrast of the white snow and the yellow leafes...beautiful shot...I agree with the comments above...the scene seems very realistic...some each one of us could experience...great job!

Always the same strange light in your pics. How do you obtain this ? Is it HDR, or any filter ?...

Morrra (Maria Rusakova) said 7 months ago:

MMeye, it was sunset, sun shined from very low angle. Неrе is no filters or photoshop.

MMeye (Martine) said 7 months ago:

Shame on me, when reading your answer I realize that I forgot to say that I love the pic... Great shot, Maria.

Beautiful composition - very unusual, but it works, doesn't it! This is very contrasty - almost a litho in some places, but extremely effecitve. I feel like it needs some straightening - it needs to come left, but maybe that's just me. Lovely work! Makes a great impact.

Best, Jon

austriaka (Karin) said 8 months ago:

I love this one a lot for its feeling of lonelyness. The overall composition and the division into two parts is great.
Still the bright/overexposed area above the person is a little bit destracting and the trees could be more vertical

DaveMac (Dave MacIntyre) said 8 months ago:

The heavy contrast in this shot really adds an element of cold. I love it!

Saxi (Stephan Sachs) said 8 months ago:

fits this theme perfect!

Ana (Ana Cortez) said 8 months ago:

I agree about the trees..... I want them to be vertical.
But gosh, this is amazing and wonderful.
And a fave.
I love how this looks.

Yes, well done, this time it fits the topic ;-)
The panoramic size is a very good idea, which enhances this low sky. Good work, Karin !

thank you :-)

sfkp (Tamara) added a critique 8 months ago:

Wow! Beautiful, the foam and the below-the-ground formation.
I've got only one thing I would like to see diffrent: the composition of the big white shell and the little red one behind it. It would be better if the red one wasn't there.

austriaka (Karin) added a critique 8 months ago:

Ah, sfkp is right, I didn't see any shells here, thought this was a strange bird :-/
A great composition, but the foreground lacks in sharpness and contrast to me

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 8 months ago:

i agree with sfkp, the little red shell is a bit disturbing but nice shot

jellybino (Robyn Shaw) added a critique 8 months ago:

I really like this. The bubbles on the water are great. I agree that the red shell next to the white shell makes it look a little like a bird, but I kind of like it.

grahambo (Graham Siebe) added a critique 8 months ago:

I agree with sfkp about the red shell.

Composition wise, the shells and the foam line aren't really working together for me. It might be better with the focus on the foam and the shells a little further off.

an impressive mountain and captured very well. It comes out like an old postcard, I am not sure if I like that. I would prefer more tonal width in the greys and more details in the forest. But perhaps this is only my personal taste :-)

ple (ferry kana) added a critique 8 months ago:

good picture but in my humble opinion, this pic lack a bit of detail in the forest and also the texture from the cloud if you wanna make it "perfect"

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 8 months ago:

I like very much - the composition is very strong - light is gorgeous and your use of space is just right! Thanks for sharing. Btw, Ple's comments are very applicable.

Best,
Jon

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 8 months ago:

i like this picture and it is obviously perfect for the topics but i agree with austriaka, i'd like to have a little more details

burlesot (Todd Burleson) added a critique 8 months ago:

Nice toning; nice composition.

ple (ferry kana) said 8 months ago:

Thanks for the comments.

I think the failure from this image is that i put the sharp area a little bit to low, and i don't have a line that lead into this crack :)

The other problem that i faced is in this Black and white version it is not easy to make it saw like ice rather than mud :( it is a lack of experience on me.

Sorry about my bad English. Since i moved to Germany and have to speak in Germany it is difficult for me to start again talking and typing in English

mikeock (Mike Adams) added a critique 8 months ago:

ple,

Great attempt.
I have viewed this photo a few times now.
As everyone else says, you have something here, just refine it a bit.
Lack of experience can only be overcome by attempts and failed attempts.
Keep shooting.
Looking forward to more of this type!

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 8 months ago:

technically it's very interesting but i don't understand exactly what i see so it's difficult to say if it fits or not to the topics and if i like it or not

ple (ferry kana) said 8 months ago:

reynertz, it's okay, i made this pic mostly based on technical thing, because i just learnt something from internet :), but i miss the "mood" thing. thank you for your appreciation

burlesot (Todd Burleson) added a critique 8 months ago:

This would have been interesting on a horizontal level too. I like the concept. I agree that it's too tall.

I like the backlight and how you have blocked the sun.

lasiate added a critique 8 months ago:

content de te retrouver par ici. La photo me semble un peu fouillis et si je vois ce qui a pu te plaire dans la lumière , je trouve que la photo n'arrive pas vraiment à transmettre cette émotion.

Ana (Ana Cortez) added a critique 8 months ago:

I agree with jvgphoto.... I can tell it was an amazing site, but shooting into the sun will totally rob you of your vision, unfortunately. It may help to do some darkening with the levels slider on the bottom half of this photo.

austriaka (Karin) said 8 months ago:

Thank you all for your input!
Especially thanks to jvgphoto, the sentence "The camera doesn't see as you see" is remarkable :-)

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 8 months ago:

the place is nice but it seems like there is too much things in the shot and so it's difficult to concentrate on it
