Thanks for your comment! This technique has worked well for me in the past with landscapes - but perhaps you are right here. I do not think I like this one with the foreground and distance blurred as much as I like another one I took with the foreground in focus and the background beyond the flowers blurred!

I guess this is a matter of personal choice, taking a good look at this again, I believe I could have done with more flowers in focus beyond rather than just the one bloom and bud that I focussed upon. Thank you for your comment - really appreciate it!

Playing with DOF, creates depth in the picture as you are trying here. I just think the unfocused front is a bit too large, compared to the rest of the picture.

I really like the colors!! The unfocused flowers in the forefront are a little distracting for me, I do like how they give you a sense of depth, but maybe you could have tried framing the photo where they didn't show as much, overall good photo!! Good job!
