Nice macro but a bit too saturated for me...
andresalegria added a critique 9 months ago:
wonderful! i like the saturation - it adds to the intensity.
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 8 months ago:
Just great work! Really like what you have done with the saturation - this really grabs the viewer - powerful shot.
Best,
Jon

Great photo, but I would have cropped it on the left. Either just cut off the ear, or even go as far as cutting just left of the eyelashes. The left side of the picture has too little interest to offer, given the superb right side. The ear is distracting for me.

that is a spectacular landscape.
i think it might be more powerful by removing some of the sky, or some of the foreground (but not both).
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 10 months ago:
Out of this world - amazing capture! Thanks for sharing.
Nick (Nick) added a critique 10 months ago:
I usually like people in landscapes, but I feel this would be better without the person. The space would be emptier.
crahan (Thomas Bouve) added a critique 10 months ago:
The sky is amazing, the mountains have a silky feel to them and the ground adds a feeling of vastness to the image. Really spectacular components.
The only minor remark I have (if I may) is that I would have loved to see the person sitting in a sort of zen-like or meditation pose. Legs crossed for example.
That little remark aside I think the image is stunning.

Well, its about time this featured - but why is every second feature these days in the square format topic? Is there some hyper-active square format users, or what?
TracyMartin (Tracy Martin) said 8 months ago:
Well my friend you know what I think of this image, those hands are complete poetry. :)

This says sky, or water, or boats, but not minimalism.

"About "Minimalism"

Create an image where your subject is the strong point of the image, but only occupying a very small portion of the image space."
i think the boats are not so big in this shot...but thanks for the comment
grahambo (Graham Siebe) added a critique 9 months ago:
I think the shot would "feel" more minimal if it didn't have the cloud across the top, but it is still topical. I like the cloud coming in from the right though.
If I could suggest one change, it would be to increase the sharpness on the boats and smooth out the sky.
andresalegria added a critique 9 months ago:
i like the blue of the sky and the water. the color increases the compatibility with minimalism, but there might be too much going on to be really minimal.
LeStro added a critique 8 months ago:
Great composition, whether minimalist or not. Good job.

Me gusta mucho la composición, el encuadre y los colores, además del motivo. Un ventilador oxidado puede dar mucho juego!!!

it took me a bit to figure out what this was from the thumbnail. after larger view of course, it was quite clear. i like to composition but am not sure about the background color (behind the fan). however, as far as rust, it's an excellent example.

This looks like a well-worn horn. Lighting has been well controlled, although I might like to see the base of the right key a little more burnt in to take some of the harshness away. Great detail overall and a very pleasing shot.
Onno (Onno Bruins) added a critique 11 months ago:
Very nice photo, but the top left button has a weird glow about it that makes it look like the DOF has been added after the shot was taken. I'd probably try to adjust the lighting a bit at the sides.
This could really be a Jazz record cover. Good job!

this picture is a great shot...and i love the composition! the only thing is that the photo loses saturation toward the bottom and in turn loses quality. But overall the photo is great and I love the feel the photo gives!
andresalegria added a critique 10 months ago:
i really like the composition here. i agree there might be just a bit too much reflection from the bottom of the horn. overall very nice.

quite an intial impression. very serene, beautiful, yet strong.
i'm not sure if i'm completely with the very strong tone of orange/red in the middle. it might be too saturated for my taste.
I love playing with shots like this - close ups of faces, eyes. Reminds me of one of my shots! www.vazaar.com/user:mrsmorunion/photos/id:16025/
Well done.
