Beamer (Clyde Beamer) said 1 year ago:

Nasty habit there, if you're gonna do it, why not by some nice Don Diego's...? This shot has a interesting and quite pleasing bokeh, what lens was this taken with??

VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) said 1 year ago:

Hi Beamer,

it was the 100-400 IS L 4 @210 (canon lens)

cheers :-)

@all

taken in pornic, france.
canon 350d and the internal b/w program with red filter.

cheers, v.t.

mysight (Carl H. Sr.) said 1 year ago:

You've sure got that black and white
down to a science Vernon.

VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) said 1 year ago:

carl, this is the very classical way to get dramatic clouds in b/w. a contrasty subject and a red filter.
it works perfect :-)

mysight (Carl H. Sr.) said 1 year ago:

Vernon,I have a fuji finepix A360,auto focus only,
no filters of course. But I am just learning how to capture the image as I see it.And I enjoy your work.

lolly (lolly smits) said 1 year ago:

Congrats, vernon; love the drama in the clouds.

Vernon,
Beautiful! Just beautiful.

(What is an overlay blend and a high pass filter??)

VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) said 1 year ago:

@martin

in photoshop you duplicate the image layer
then set blend mode to overlay
and apply the high pass filter :-)
it increases/sharpens small & fine details :-)

DaveMac (Dave MacIntyre) said 1 year ago:
