Beautiful work! I really like the symmetry which you have captured here - the spacing is wonderful.

Best,
Jon

@Beamer
thanks :)

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) said 7 months ago:

Hey, Vernon, have you ever, or would you be willing to do a tutorial on this color treatment? I see you use it a lot and have always been curious how you get it so nice.

VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) said 7 months ago:

@Beamer
this kind of toning takes some time (0,5-2 hrs) and depends of the "content".
this shot has a triple toning in split-mode,
mostly done by using 3 tone layers for each shade of grey available in the shot.
so if you have 15 grey values, you have 45 layers just for toning. the adjustment takes the longest time.

:-)

Did you shot this one during the Great Exhibition of 1900 ? :)
Very interesting, the way you have 'isolated' the tower from the surroundings, people, and animation of the town. I think the B&W also participates in this feeling. And the wide angle distorsion brings undoubtedly a plus.

CraigMartin (Craig Martin) said 8 months ago:

Well, its about time this featured - but why is every second feature these days in the square format topic? Is there some hyper-active square format users, or what?

TracyMartin (Tracy Martin) said 8 months ago:

Well my friend you know what I think of this image, those hands are complete poetry. :)

VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) said 8 months ago:

@craig,
perhaps is there some more activity, who knows :)

@neoloop & tracy & all

Great picture. Good use of black/white and depth.

TracyMartin (Tracy Martin) said 8 months ago:

Geez I wonder where you took this. ;)

taikrixel (thomas mueller) said 8 months ago:

nice one, but i think because of the high perspective there's to much surrounding area around the repetition.

VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) said 8 months ago:

thanks for your feedback, taikrixel :-)

about which repetition are you talking?

there are more repetitions in this pic,
the chairs
the stone flower tubs
the stairs
the statues
the small pillars in the curb
the water reflections in the sand ground

... only the human subject has no repetition :-)
