I thought this was a rose in the thumbnail! It makes a good abstract and your DOF is very effective. I love the blend of colours and the way that they interweave, giving highlights and shadows between them, particularly in the top right corner. My initial thought was that it was a little too unfeatured to hold the interest for long, but since I am still enjoying looking at it and following its twists and turns, I must have been wrong about that! The colour palette is lovely...

I agree with Beamer's observation too. Focus on the front rim would accent the ridges on the front and the curves in the petals at the right edge of the frame. Since the back side is already blurred, I don't think you give up much to do this.

I like it (with the little focused space at the right side)! A bit ambiguous, interesting atmosphere!

The color is very rich, although I think it would look MUCH better if it has better lighting, or possible even bringing out the highlights in PS or something. I think it would give it a bit of a punch. I love the angle though. :)

I keep coming back to this photo... it's very deep and thought-provoking.
