Lemmingstone (Peter) said 1 year ago:

Thanks again everyone. Much appreciated.

VT - That is the exact look I was going for - "crossed-lomoholganized-artsy-fartsy-something". Couldn't have described it better :)

ties (Ties Dufraing) added a critique 1 year ago:

looks like an old photograph with a lot of history ... normally i don't like heavy editing or added layers, but this is an interesting shot! nice work!

grahambo (Graham Siebe) added a critique 1 year ago:

I don't normally go for this sort of thing, but this really works for me. I think it comes down to a couple things:

1. The photo has more interesting details than before.
2. As Lindy said, it fits the subject (LA).

How in the world did you get that shot? Is it near a station? I love how you can see that little ring of light in the bulb. Very cool.

How sad.... but it's really a wonderful composition.

effraie added a critique 1 year ago:

very nice!

i really like DOF and focus, and the very light reflection! (what kind of surface is the fly on?)

Maybe the subject is just a bit too much in the center? (not sure...)

leaves added a critique 1 year ago:

This is lovely. They fly looks like a dead mechanical robot. :)

I love the vibrant colors and how you captured the flowers at various stages of bloom and growth. The presence of the bee makes the shot fun too!

Ramon (Alex Ramon) added a critique 1 year ago:

Beautiful composition and colours. I was very attracted to the image before I noticed the bee... Great work!

Laurie (Laurie) added a critique 1 year ago:

Lovely exposure. I love the light in the tunnel. I think perhaps a square crop off the top to get rid of some of the black area would help this.

paulflury (elp) added a critique 1 year ago:

You know I like this pic. I wouldn't crop the top it would it ruin the ratio's, he needs to be a small shuffling figure.

UnieX (Carlos Crooks) added a critique 1 year ago:

I to like this photo, but I agree with elp when suggesting to crop the top of it. It will add more focus to your subject. Nice job though! =)

Venus (Venus Nakahara) added a critique 1 year ago:

Beautiful. I love the contrast, it really pulls you into the scene. I like it as is, uncropped.

manolomartin (manolo martin) added a critique 1 year ago:

Beautiful photo. Perhaps too centered the main subject, but nice anyway.

aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) added a critique 1 year ago:

I agree with Beamer's observation too. Focus on the front rim would accent the ridges on the front and the curves in the petals at the right edge of the frame. Since the back side is already blurred, I don't think you give up much to do this.

joka (Johannes Kapp) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like it (with the little focused space at the right side)! A bit ambiguous, interesting atmosphere!

Blizzard (Beef Jerky) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like it as is.
The blur in front gives this photo a sense of flow.
Beautiful tones. :)

Ramon (Alex Ramon) added a critique 1 year ago:

It's a beautiful shot... perfect for the topic. I love the deep reds!

mosesport (Moses) added a critique 1 year ago:

The color is very rich, although I think it would look MUCH better if it has better lighting, or possible even bringing out the highlights in PS or something. I think it would give it a bit of a punch. I love the angle though. :)

.moses.
