I have to disagree. With a tighter crop you can make the left wing the main subject. The left wing is projected as the biggest one, and that's why it can be the main subject.

I do like having the left wing as the wing in focus, but I do think having the body in more focus would help the photo. I do like composition of this photo overall though! keep up the good work!!

Hi Thea,
This is a nice capture. Close-up work unavoidably involves narrow DOF and that brings the challenge of finding the right place to have the focus. You chose for the wing farthest away from the camera. I would have chosen the body and the wing up front to have the focus.
