Oh, I love the buildings are part of the context and muted colour.
The umbrella's sort of mimic the signs.
I like that.

Thanks for the comments, all interesting and constructive. I will experiment with a crop to see if I can improve the feel of the shot. When I took the shot I wanted to get the effect of looking in the foreground and seeing the background so that the parade of brolleys could be seen.

Thanks!!

Mel

What I really like about this shot is not the technical aspects (I agree with the comments above about these), but the story that is being told within this theme. Take away the signs in the background and you have a scene from almost any developed country in the world. I like the idea of the common touch of getting about in the rain using umbrellas. I also love the different postures etc of all the folk that can be seen (yes, particularly that lady on the left). Well done.

Great!

This looks great. Maybe crop some off of the top and and punch up the colors.

This image tells a nice story. Your composition shows them as individuals as well as a couple. The expressions and body language are interesting too.

I agree that this is a very well composed shot that tells a nice story. I also like the use of colour here where there might have been a temptation to desaturate and present it b&w.

could be an Edward Hopper-scene ;o)

I really like this photo. If I had to really nit-pick, I would have suggested having the center black line cover the white line in the background. Otherwise, spot-on shot.

I like the idea... nice composition.
But it's a shame that we can see the hand of the guy.

Yes, I also like the way the yellow line and gutter take you into the shot - very effective perspective and use of angle. I like the laughing and joking, but obviously the lady on the left either doesn't get it is isn't impressed. Cool touch to capture the bloke in the middle with the camera - almost feels like a very congenial camera club outing :-) ...
