This is really not sharp enough, the kid is completely out of focus. While I like the composition with the stairs, I don't find his expression very striking and am at loss at what you tried to express through this photo.

The only problem that i have is the green at the top left of the frame.
If that could be removed i think you have a winner.

I honestly don't know what the above critiques are griping about. This really is a wonderful image. The expression is not posed and the line of the stairs completes the image delightfully.

I have to agree with nattfodd. You might try clarifying a bit, to make your subject stand out a bit more. I'm not sure it would help much, but it's worth a shot.

How adorable!!! I like the idea of a cropping out the green in the upper left - it would make the photo completely about the baby without that small distraction. He is too cute with that face!! I think I like the focus on him as is - for my taste - just keeps him soft and innocent. Maybe a little more clarity around the eyes but the rest of him is fine to me.
