It's rather for topic "Portraite of persson" than Human Body!

TammyLynn (Tammy) said 6 months ago:

I think this is a fantastic shot for the topic, well done! Beautiful capture too. Love the expression on his/her face. :-D

mikeock (Mike Adams) said 6 months ago:

Awesome shot.
These type of shots make me happy the wife is pregnant!

sealgmg2 (Scott Niquette) said 5 months ago:

Great expression. You captured his/her emotion wonderfully. This image made me smile, really. While the background is a bit busy, the image still works because it's real and because the child is so prominent in the image. Very nice work. Thanks for sharing it with us.

TammyLynn (Tammy) said 6 months ago:

This has the potential to be a great shot, but the photographer has taken it too far. The inclusion of genitalia ruins the whole shot for me. ... as it has several other shots in this series.

misu (Mikhail Palinchak) said 6 months ago:

Tammy, You have some tabu with genitalia on photos?

TammyLynn (Tammy) said 6 months ago:

No, I do not. I just feel there is a time and a place for it, and this is neither.

misu (Mikhail Palinchak) said 6 months ago:

Hm... can you explaine me what You meen "time and a place for it"?

KerriDoodle (Kerri) said 4 months ago:

I have to agree with TammyLynn. It seems to me this site is posting more and more nudes, which I can understand the artistic value of when done tastefully. However, I feel this photo crosses the line.

This picture would have had far more impact and intrigue had you cropped just below the ring finger.

Beautiful portrait, I love the colours. Do wish there was a bit more light in the eyes is all. Nice work.

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) said 6 months ago:

Tammy, thanks for your thoughts - much appreciated - was an overcast afternoon with great light, but it was a spur of the moment session away from the studio, and I didn't have an umbrella to throw just a little light into the eyes! - jon

prometheus (Thomas) added a critique 6 months ago:

I wouldn't have noticed any of the mensioned "problems", if they were not mensioned. They're right, but anyway this is a great portrait.

JimiThing (Jim Machajewski) added a critique 5 months ago:

Along with the dark eyes comment, I think that the face in general is too dark and a bit soft. It seems that the focus was on the wall behind and not the girl.

james_littlefox added a critique 4 months ago:

i love her expression on face! maybe the color can be warmer.

Ana (Ana Cortez) said 5 months ago:

This is stunning.

TammyLynn (Tammy) said 5 months ago:

Thank you Ana.

The original image was taken in B/W format and literally straight out of the camera (as they took the cards) won me first place in a portrait competition and a £1700 Olympus E-3 with a 14-54mm 2.8 lens. :-D

Ana (Ana Cortez) said 5 months ago:

This is a black and white??????

TammyLynn (Tammy) said 5 months ago:

The original was shot in black and white, but it was shot on a digital SLR on the mono setting and saved in RAW format...so the colour was recored and I was able to access and use it.

Ana (Ana Cortez) said 5 months ago:

Ah, I see. Thanks for explaining!

Very nice, Tracy. So emotional.
I really like your eye, you have a gift for spotting on beautiful details of a scene.
It's good to see that "Human Body" can also offer this kind of a shot ;-)
Congratulations !

TammyLynn (Tammy) said 6 months ago:

Thank you sfkp. I took this out in my garden, with the sun shinning through the flower. :-)

Beautiful place. Don't you think that on this image green is not a green ;) it is too yellowish

TammyLynn (Tammy) said 6 months ago:

Thank you photoaholic. :-)

misu, this is how the greens looked on this day, rain was in the air, new growth on the trees, afternoon sun coming through the clouds. It was amazing to see in person.

misu (Mikhail Palinchak) said 6 months ago:

Tammy, I don't what You take offence on me. May be my monitor isn't properly calibrated. I like this photo, forest, flowers, composition. But I think You are interested in opinion of others! Sorry if I hurt You!

TammyLynn (Tammy) said 6 months ago:

misu, I've not taken offense, all I did was explain the colours to you and to anyone else who thought it was too yellow. It's OK if you don't like the colours, or if you don't like the photo even. Everyone has their own opinions and that's OK. If we all thought the same way about things and we all liked the same things, then life would be very boring. And Yes, it is a beautiful place. :-)

TammyLynn (Tammy) said 6 months ago:

Thank you ljcbraga. :-)

misu, this was taken at night, I've not manipulated the colours, this is how they were with a long exposure.

Beautiful. For background DOF is perfect but pitty that not the whole flower in focus.

TammyLynn (Tammy) said 6 months ago:

misu, not a pity at all, just the way I wanted it. :-)

I don't like to colors, especialle colors of the skin! Sorry...

TammyLynn (Tammy) said 6 months ago:

I see nothing wrong with the colours here. Not quite sure about the composition, but the lighting is nice, and so is the DOF.
