pure horizon view with flamboyant colours; I like. but, which is this impression of black line on the horizon ?

SeekingFocus (Jason Langley) said 1 year ago:

kamaki,

This is a photo of Lake Ponchartrain, in southern Louisiana. What you are seeing is the Lake Ponchartrain Causeway, which connects New Orleans to the north side of the lake.

P.S. here's another from the same series:

The orange seems noisy and pixelated. This one seems overworked compared to the other photo that has a lovely naturalness about it.

Jenine,

They were both processed (as far as I can remember) more or less the same way. Just some curves, levels, and saturation... perhaps the saturation is a bit overdone, but if it's pixelated (I don't see it) I would image it's only because of the resizing and compressing for the web version. Thanks for the constructive critique!

Excellent shot. Very nice colors..

Good composition - you break the rule-of-thirds (rules should be broken!) but you could make it even better by cropping a little off the bottom so that the horizon is exactly in the middle.

I really like the way the sticks and break-waters lead you to the right hand side of the picture.

beautiful tone and flow. the horizon is vivid in a fantastic way.

Very powerful shot, like how you faded corners. Almost separated red/orange colors, and their reflection on the water attracts alot.
