You have done an excellent job of making this place in the forest look really creepy... but in a very cool way. Nice and magical!
Syam added a critique 1 year ago:
I like the composition of this picture. You had the sunlight appearing in between the trees and an 'entrance' like scene in a colourful world.
misu (Mikhail Palinchak) added a critique 6 months ago:
Nice photo. The forest is founderful. New Zeland :)

Looks like you were a member of the crew from LotR of Harry Potter. ;)
I have nothing to add to the compliments already given. It's just amazing!

very nice, the only change would be the background which is very active and distracts from the subject.
tristantrc added a critique 1 year ago:
i agree...background is a little distracting
TammyLynn (Tammy) said 1 year ago:
Thank you for all the comments and critiques, and for my first Feature. :-D I was pleasantly surprised at how this one turned out. I took bunches of shots with different lightings and backgrounds. It's a clear glass bowl with clear clean water. The colour of this photos is not altered or enhanced. The sparkles are natural as well, air bubbles on the sides of the bowl. :-)

Thanks Andrei, I went for that slighly different angle, I could see what other people were taking and tried to mix it up a bit :)

Excellent. You definitely have a unique view.

beautiful image. the tones and the blur made a dreamy image.
ties (Ties Dufraing) added a critique 1 year ago:
beautiful colours and scene! it certainly fits the theme, both literally and symbolically ...

camera shake is noticeable but adds so much to the image. don't change a thing! it's perfect!

this is a unique blue i like it a lot! the beach and the boat are crisp and the natural blur makes for a smooth backdrop. i like how the sun is over the edge of the horizon enough to be visible but not enough to overcome the photo, it fits nice for the blue topic :)

this pic is cool, i like this gaussian blur^^ i allways like gaussian blur^^

Thanks for the help, I might go back and try to shoot it again. Seems like I was not to off on thinking it was a good compsition.
I was just using a little crapy Olympus that I carry around for times when I see something I want to record.
chromadreams (David) added a critique 1 year ago:
can you use ISO parameters?,I don't know if that model allows you to do it but if it does, maybe with a little less of ISO it would be sharper as Sher said, maybe with a 200 or even 100 it would be perfect for the shot
Raza (Raza Akhtar) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree with others, and also think that the photo seems to be cut off at the edges. Just a little bit on the sides would add more depth.
rverspirit (eddie mchugh) added a critique 1 year ago:
It's kinda funky but I like it...reminds of a holga or pinhole image
kokii (Dana K) added a critique 1 year ago:
great idea, even the bit not sharp focus works in this case well

I love the warm color, the contrast its very nice.
aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) added a critique 1 year ago:
The focus seems a bit soft, although that contributes to the romance of the image. (And I am nit picking, but it seems like there is some sensor dust and a line in the upper right corner that could be cropped out). Still, the photo has a lot of appeal because of the warm tones and the romance of the shutters.

i love the texture of the wall & the tonality of the light, but i agree with the above comments about the focus
mikeock (Mike Adams) added a critique 1 year ago:
The above comment state it well.
The coloring on this is wonderful.
From the thumbnail it looks almost like a fire.

Did you go back and shoot this location friday?! :)
dontpanic added a critique 1 year ago:
i love the perspective that you've got on this one. just find the structure outside a bit busy for the rest of the frame...it's a nice contrast maybe, but for me it detracts from the abstract quality of the stairs and the feet.

An interesting photo. I would maybe play with curves in photoshop a bit more to bring out the various textures in the image.
uncommondepth (Roberta Murray) added a critique 1 year ago:
Terrific perspective on this shot. The curve of the stairs leads the eye through the frame. I do think the exposure is slightly off as the highlights are too bright. I think this could easily be fixed though as it's not too bad. If you work with Photoshop try using the shadow/highlight adjustment tool. Or if you shoot in Raw, adjust the exposure in raw processing so the highlights are correct, and then use curves to open up the shadows. In either case, with a bit of adjustments this would be a really terrific shot. Great textures in the stone work.
Raza (Raza Akhtar) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree, you can adjust the highlights and brightness to make this more interesting.
ecannaday (jim schear) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree with the above critiques. There is a 'wear' of time to these stairs that is unique and makes this photo good, but has potential to be awesome.

one more time the vignetting, I would liked it more without it.
Now I'm going to see the retouched one.
Sher (Sher Hilliard) added a critique 1 year ago:
I much prefer your original here over the retouched image. The darkness adds mood and the shading of the sky is wonderful. Nice work!
Paulforrester (Paul Forrester) added a critique 1 year ago:
I prefer this one to the other-interesting looking place!
Laurie (Laurie) added a critique 1 year ago:
This one is better than the retouched I think. Although the sky is very pretty, it's not as prominent as the land features which are really great in silhouette. At any rate it's a very nice image.
lolly (lolly smits) added a critique 1 year ago:
I prefer this too. Good composition, capture of the light.
Really wonderful picture. The post processing does give it the extra color and dreamy style it needed.
