Great portrait. Captured at the right time. Wish the eyes had better light on them though.

CouCou33 (Ingrid) added a critique 4 days ago:

Very nice portrait. like the lighting and the contrasted colours. The background is a tad too dark to really help the subject to stand out though.

sfkp (Tamara) added a critique 4 days ago:

Haha, I work in Amsterdam and I can assure you he will not be the last smoker, wether it's a normal cigarette or weed.

I disagree with Apurva becouse imo the dark eyes gives the man character. I have more troubles with those two large white spots on the man's right side.
I like the moment you have chosen, he keeps his lower jaw slightly a bit more forward.

Pradeep (Pradeep P) added a critique 2 days ago:

Great street shot, love the way he looks at the cigarette. The color really makes it :)

nice, i love the expression on his face, like a true connoisseur of the cigarette. :)

Beautiful landscape this. The wide angle lens has been used effectively. Great sharpness. On the flip side the lower left corner is a bit boring.

Very nice shot. I really like the colours and the reflections in the water. nice composition.

Great shot, love the tones and the light. Nothing to critique here actually :)

Give it a star. Well done. The colors are dramatic. Ther curvature of the lake/pond is pleasing.

I agree with all of the above. I really like the vignette effect. Not easy to do on a Zone 5 or 6 sky without lots of clouds. Quiet inspiration.

Very Cool. I'm curious as to what a shot would look like if the tree was directly in front of the sun.

boyd added a critique 12 days ago:

Way cool shot, Clyde. Great in every category listed.

kseniaC (ksenia) added a critique 11 days ago:

great shot!
and amazing silhouette!
the tree almost looks like it belongs in a dr.seuss book
:]

Love the light here. The colors too are great almost a painting. Just wish the dof was a lil bit deeper :)

wow very very majestic and inspirational
beautiful composition!!

sfkp (Tamara) added a critique 11 days ago:

For me, it has the wow-factor. The sun shining at diffrent please trough a wall of clouds, that's a really nice capture. The whole envirement must have been very inspirational.

Thanks ksenia and Tamara!

Afoklala (Jan Willem van Dormolen) added a critique 7 days ago:

Great shot, great catch. What I would change, is the red spots in the foreground. You could make them black too, as they distract me. (Maybe just me)
There's some heavy rain going down here...

Pradeep (Pradeep P) added a critique 2 days ago:

This is a great shot, the light is fantastic. I would like to see this in a square format, with the lone bird around the upper-left 1/3rd :)

mikeock (Mike Adams) added a critique 11 days ago:

Very interesting idea.
I agree about adding some other sort of interest into the image, such as a leaf or such.

sfkp (Tamara) added a critique 10 days ago:

Sorry! A leaf is a better idea then a leave, indeed.

Afoklala (Jan Willem van Dormolen) added a critique 7 days ago:

This is interesting, almost an abstract. I agree that the leaf on the right is a disturbance. Would it be very hard to edit that out? (by cloning some of the grass, perhaps?)
I don't think this needs something extra, if the leaf wasn't there it would have been really interesting by its sheer abstraction.

ApurvaMadia (Apurva Madia) added a critique 5 days ago:

A little too simplistic. Some point of interest is needed here.

Pradeep (Pradeep P) added a critique 2 days ago:

Nicely composed abstract. Very minimalistic. My only critique would be that there is a certain lack of visual contrast or pop if you know what I mean.

I want to look at this as an artistic achievement (which it is) but I'm a bit phobic about this particular critter I'm afraid... It's so unclear that I can almost enjoy the picture, but then I read Ana's comment, and imagine myself being the tiny person, and I find myself running away again.
