I like the processing. Gives it a painting/medival effect.

AngryBuddha (Sean Bailey) added a critique 1 year ago:

Great processing and great image. The treatment fits this image perfectly.

I really like this. I think the only thing I would do differently is turn slightly more to your left so the bricks in the road are parallel with the bottom of the picture. But I'm just weird that way. :-)

visualthoughts added a critique 1 year ago:

Very nice! Don't know what else to say except it's striking.

Agresticguy added a critique 1 year ago:

Perfect! Don't change a thing. Composition, lighting, exposure, atmosphere, everything is just perfect.

kamaki (Christophe) added a critique 1 year ago:

Actually, nice portrait and good compo !
I like the colors too

psychodudu (Andrew Parker) added a critique 1 year ago:

Fantastic composition, and a really neat concept. Just don't see for the life of me how this fits the theme, but that's just my lowly opinion...lol!

defrost (Jesse Yardley) said 1 year ago:

Thanks Andrew... Wasn't the theme Low Light? This shot was taken in Low Light, so maybe that's how it fits the theme. See the following shots also portraits taken in Low Light:

Just great ! A little more light for the eye and it would be perfect from my point of view.

philippe (Philippe Reichert) added a critique 1 year ago:

The subject (where is this building? Shanghai?), light and composition are nice but, as it was mentioned before, the picture is a bit soft, and the sky is really noisy. What camera did you use? Have you tried a gaussian blur filter or noise ninja, then sharpen through lab color?

philippe (Philippe Reichert) added a critique 1 year ago:

From your profile, I guess it must be Seoul?

Paulforrester (Paul Forrester) said 1 year ago:

Hi Phillipe, these impressive structures are the Petronas towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malayasia. I took the shot through glass and it had started raining. I am not sure what i can do about the noise in the sky. I will try the gaussian blur filter and sharpening in Lab Colour-thanks for the tip. The camera used-Cannon 400D.

Cheers!

philippe (Philippe Reichert) added a critique 1 year ago:

You can also use a tool like Noise Ninja.

Paulforrester (Paul Forrester) said 1 year ago:

Cool, thanks again!

Thanks Eric for writing a comment.

Jenseye (Jen) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like it...I like the fact that you can see his eyes and expression...a little dark, but it's a difficult image to capture, all and all very nice.

Naimi (Naimi Grondin) added a critique 1 year ago:

Nice shot, but, maybe, this shot could have been posted in the Solitude topic.

kamaki (Christophe) said 1 year ago:

Thank you for your honnest comments

agi500 (John Agoncillo) added a critique 1 year ago:

Yeah this was a difficult photo to expose but you captured it the best you can. Ever consider cropping the photograph in that you only see the hands? My reasoning is that it looks to be better exposed and you can crop it to be panoramic. Just a thought.

Great shot Eric. Wonderful vivid colors, great angle. Where and what is this building?

Pi-Production (Eric Rousset) said 1 year ago:

Thanks Sher,it's an Orthodox Church in San Remo (Italy)

byutanner (Jason Tanner) added a critique 1 year ago:

I think it is better here (wasn't it in symmetry before). But great shot again. There is something unique about your PP I just can't quite put my finger on...

Pi-Production (Eric Rousset) said 1 year ago:

Thanks Jason, for the PP it's a fake HDR ;-)

rblue85 (Tiffany) added a critique 1 year ago:

Love the contrast colors in this shot, the only thing I would change is the building is a bit tilted.

christian (Christian Stritzelberger) added a critique 1 year ago:

I would add one thing to the critique. To me, a combination of more highlights (as mentioned above) and a smaller aperture could do the job. Why not do it at f 8? f 11? I would love to see ALL of the image, I don't need any blur... :-)

Cool idea and Cutout anyways! :-)

delphE (delphinE Le Berre) said 1 year ago:

christian > Yes I understand everything you said, but it's a self portrait, the light was the ambient light (and not my friend I think) So I made something like 50 pictures to get this one ...

Thanks for all your comments, they are really constructive

Wonderful image and pp work...looks like an old postcard you would pull out of your grandparents attic.

Sher (Sher Hilliard) added a critique 1 year ago:

As everyone else has said, this is a lovely phot with great processing. I'm with Jason - would love to see the original, and personally I would like to know how you processed this. Very nice work!

uncommondepth (Roberta Murray) said 1 year ago:

Okay, I finally posted the original here: www.flickr.com/photos/uncommondepth/479206769/. To create this photo I processed the original to give it a softer desaturated appearance. I have a tutorial on the steps used to do that (using a different image) here: uncommondepth.wordpress.com/2007/04/25/processing-....

Next I used a couple of different texture layers with the blending mode set to overlay to achieve the aged look. For the textures I have one of a blank daguerotype and the other texture was a photo of ice.

joka (Johannes Kapp) added a critique 1 year ago:

Very good work! Much more interesting than the original! Compliments!

Nice bubbles..for me the shot is little dense..i would suggest more space or more concentration on one or several bubbles.

odon (Odon Dias) added a critique 1 year ago:

Reminds me vine or soft drinks due the colors, but also could be mineral water in a glass recipient or container. Cool bubbles and colors.

Pi-Production (Eric Rousset) added a critique 1 year ago:

I don't think it works for this topic but still a nice bubbles shot !!

joka (Johannes Kapp) added a critique 1 year ago:

fine! Impressed of the blue colour!
