great shot! beautiful colors, and this play of gradation and backlighting is very well managed!

taikrixel (thomas mueller) added a critique 1 year ago:

a beauitful shot and the silhouettes makes a interesting image. i like it!

caryscott (Cary Scott) added a critique 1 year ago:

Beautiful image and capture. I would agree however that this image would improve with a crop of the lower dark area. I would also remove the spot (sun spot or dust?) above the sun because it is a little distracting.

zenith9 (Bob and Jeannie) added a critique 1 year ago:

Very nice silhouette and lovely colour in the sky. I would make more of this by also cropping some of the bottom off as has already been suggested.

andygibb (Andy Gibb) added a critique 1 year ago:

great shot and i agree the crop wouuld make it greater...lovely tone and detail thouugh

Junkaboy (A. Junqueira) added a critique 1 year ago:

The look on the kid's face is so powerfull, its almost disturbing. I like the way the lights dim around the face. The hand doesnt actually bother me, but I think the image would look even better either without it or with the other hand on the same position on the other side. Great picture!

Pi-Production (Eric Rousset) said 1 year ago:

Thanks Andre for ur comment ;)

kt_still added a critique 1 year ago:

The facial expression is so strong that the hand is not distracting at all. very lovely :)

I don't understand very well this picture. The vintage processing wasn't usefull for this kind of subject (as far as I'm concerned). The wheels are too much over each other.

Pi-Production (Eric Rousset) said 1 year ago:

Even your comment I don't understand, no I'm joking lol but what u mean "wheeels are too much each other" ????.
Merci Christophe :)

uncommondepth (Roberta Murray) added a critique 1 year ago:

This is very nice Eric. The colors and texture give the image a vintage feeling. The subject too (although I don't know exactly what it is) feels old too. Well done.

mikeock (Mike Adams) added a critique 1 year ago:

I feel that if the "vintage processing" had been applied over more of the image rather than just the wheels, this image would have an older feel.
Currently you see the main subject in the old feel but when you look at the trees it looks like it was taken yesterday!

The traitment you did to this picture is really good. You're making a quite basic picture a really interesting one. I really like the colors you're getting here.

byutanner (Jason Tanner) added a critique 1 year ago:

Yeah the reds are interesting to me, but good capture.

zenith9 (Bob and Jeannie) added a critique 1 year ago:

Lovely composition, the touch of red really helps to set off the green door.

jacquebraun (Jacque) added a critique 1 year ago:

Simply beautiful

AngryBuddha (Sean Bailey) added a critique 1 year ago:

Nicely done. You've composed the shot perfectly to really make the door stand out.

Belle, belle, belle...! :-)

Tu utilises quel traitement pour en arriver à cette ambiance si vivante ?

Chuut : c'est un peu mort ici, non ?

Pi-Production (Eric Rousset) said 1 year ago:

Merci,Merci,Merci...!:-)
Post-traité sous "toshop" avec des textures, je joue pas mal sur l'opacité et la "gomme" pour éclaircir les zones d'ombre.
@+ poto !!

willie_901 (william) added a critique 1 year ago:

The tonality of this image is very limited. The lens flare doesn't work for me.

I like the curved sidewalk.

Pi-Production (Eric Rousset) added a critique 1 year ago:

Like the comments above and me too I like the sidewalk ;)

BSurprised (Behrooz) added a critique 1 year ago:

In one word, the photo is over-exposed. I know it would make the bodies go black if you would have captured it with a faster shutter speed, but with some bracketing and some editing of levels and stuff it could make a great composition. Yes I agree with everyone, the curve in the sidewalk is awesome.

chromadreams (David) added a critique 1 year ago:

maybe the problem is not the photo but the camera, Have someone thougth about that?, I say this because of the tonal critiques, maybe the camera can't offer more tonal range, this closed to the thing of the sun light just behind them do a disaster of this photo.
I think this camera don't have any kind of DOF control.
Better luck next time

VernonTrent (Vernon Trent) added a critique 1 year ago:

well, this was a pretty bad light situation.
it works fine for a backlight image and with a fill flash would work fine.
the tonal range given by the image itself is ok, but here was a try to get the most details of the picture for the price of the contrast.
I tried something to get more of it, but because of poor image size/quality with some artifacts it ended with what you see in the link below.

I'm sure, with a bit more knowledge of technical aspects and settings for the camera (fill flash) you would get better images even with the sun in front of you. a good lens hood is a must. if you have the choice between a needless skylight filter and a lens hood, take the lenshood :-))

here is what I could get from your image. couldn't get it sharper because of the artifacts)
