there's a nice vibes going out this shot. I like the ethereal view of one building compared to the other.
mrsankey (Andrew Sankey) added a critique 1 year ago:
I really like this shot. It does exactly what you said, it deviates from the conventional skyline type shot with a unique perspective.

I love that, I'd like to see it B&W, but the framing is really great !

I'm the first and I think not the last to say
Great photo, I like the "bud flower" and of course the drop water.Well done Laurie
Laurie (Laurie) said 1 year ago:
I actually uploaded the wrong version of this shot. I had a "cleaner" one but didn't notice that the wrong one was up until a little while ago.
I had thought about cropping out the bud, but ultimately liked the bud being included. I'm glad you agreed. Thanks.
Blumie (Sabine) added a critique 1 year ago:
It is very beautiful. The flower looks a bit tired, but I think, thats what you want us to see. Or?
Laurie (Laurie) said 1 year ago:
Blumie...thank you. Yes it is tired. It was taken immediately following a day of heavy rain and the flower was soggy and heavy with water. It is a white hibiscus.

Lovely flower Laurie! I like both versions : )

Very effective cutout but you need to cutout the feet on the right ;
Magdapeeta added a critique 1 year ago:
If the purpose of adding color is to focus the viewer....then I find my eye being caught by the jacket... But I don't think this is the focus of the photograph, neither is it the focus of the child....
bbonner (Bonner Photographic) added a critique 1 year ago:
I have to agree - I don't think I care for the selective color. For one I think its use is a bit too trendy and for two, I think the child's expression is much more important in the image. I think if you were to make this an all B&W image, and use the B&W color filters in PS or Picasa you could turn the sweatshirt black, which cause a much greater emphasis to be placed on the child's smooth and white face. The over all impact will be much great. You might look at darkening the background just to make it disappear a bit more. Finally, the foot on the right has to be cropped or cloned out - its is too distracting.
Topher (Christopher Mueller) added a critique 1 year ago:
If this was practice to use selective coloring, this is a fantastic job - you could still work with the surrounding contrast to enhance the picture. Otherwise as an all-around photo, I don't have much to add, agreeing with the prev. comments. Thanks for sharing!

I like it, has a "Blade Runner" feel. The one thing I would like to see more of is some traffic headlight blurs and maybe a little more focus on the 2 prominent building on the right foreground.
Laurie (Laurie) added a critique 1 year ago:
I think this one is excellent. It really shows "Big City" it seems to go on forever.
Pi-Production (Eric Rousset) added a critique 1 year ago:
Very good processing it's like "Sin City" in "Big City",or a french movie "Renaissance"
Well done
Blumie (Sabine) added a critique 1 year ago:
Oh no! I do not have enough english words for this. In German, the Viennise way, I would say: "Bist du deppart!" which would be translated into "Are you crazy!" but it does not mean the same. I is a scream that means, I am so impressed, so amazed about what I see. If any of my postings in this topic would win over this posting, I would feel ashamed.

great use of B&W here. furthermore, your use of frame is perfect. i really like this one.

good point. i guess it deviates from the "big city" skyline-themed shots.
