I have a little problem with the frame. The brick line on the left is not quite straight. Maybe a little cropping...
Pi-Production (Eric Rousset) added a critique 1 year ago:
Sorry the frame doesn't work for me as well
Rainybeet (John Bonner) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree with the others that the framing seems a bit off. maybe this would have worked better as a vertical composition. I really love the subject, color, and texture of the whole thing, as well as how the curley Qs in the rail contrast with the rectangles everywhere else.
sleepless_dream (dimi) added a critique 1 year ago:
if you have the opportunity to go back and shoot it again shoot from a bit further away (so that the shadows are dominating the bottom art and center it equally from the sides. it has great potential... the saturation and tones in it are wonderful!
Topher (Christopher Mueller) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree - there are some interesting things falling out of the frame. I'd love to see more arch - more shadow - more rust. Right now I think it feels too slanted since you are so close. Color is really great - the colors compliment each other, the best part of this capture. Maybe if we saw more of the building it would fit the category better? (or the green topic... or the rust topic... whichever...)

I really like the composition. Where did you take it? Maybe it could do with a bit of an increase on the colour levels? I would like to see greener trees and and some colour in the sky. Just me though.

Thanks fro the comments. This photo was taken in Canada, just outside Vancouver.
chromaticmelody (Dhiren Bhatia) added a critique 1 year ago:
Very nice cap for sure. I like it its clean simple and looks great. The colors do infact need a little bit of work, and a little contrast in the sky would be great too. Just looks silighty bland, some curve play maybe? I dig the shot though
Sher (Sher Hilliard) added a critique 1 year ago:
A lovely photo. The blue color sets a mood. I would like to see a bit more shading.
anatoliy (Anatoliy) added a critique 1 year ago:
I dont like something about composition and image is a bit grey, needs some processing.

Sorry Olivier but I don't know what is it...And the quality is not so good :(
iko (Olivier Petit) said 1 year ago:
I have to admit it's a little 'conceptual'.
It's in fact a simple reflection of a bird in the water of the 'vieux port' (old harbor) in marseille.
simonlloyd (Simon Lloyd) added a critique 1 year ago:
I could see what it was. I like it in a very minimalistic way.
Peasap (Paul) added a critique 1 year ago:
I like the idea of the concept, nice colours although I'd like to have seen a little more movement in the water and also to see the bird (i'm assuming it's a bird) a little clearer.
anatoliy (Anatoliy) added a critique 1 year ago:
So simple but so complete. Like minimalism and this looks like painting.

kadenajack, you made the same comment in an older photo. i understand your point of view but you should read what Sher said : "In my dictionary, the definition of solitude is "the state of being alone, separated from other people, whether considered as a welcome freedom from disturbance or as an unhappy loneliness.""
AntoineB (Antoine BARBOT) said 1 year ago:
i tried to remove the pipes at the top, i didn't like it whitout them, but thanks for your suggestion.
Topher (Christopher Mueller) added a critique 1 year ago:
Antoine, I like it just the way it is. Including your representation of Solitude, which can be interpreted in so many ways.... Instead of worrying about semantics, I have to say your interest in the subject and the framing/presentation is fantastic. How solitary this person is was so well presented with your tucking him into the left corner of the dark empty room (it seems like such a small room - but so large at the same time because of how small he seems and the dark colors). The pic speaks novels to me obviously and is a favorite. Thanks for sharing it.

I love the surreal effect of the exaggerated saturation, and you did a great job of drawing the viewers eye directly to the subject while maintaining a sense of place.

This is a good idea and a cool window. The layout to balance both the shadows and the actual window has been done well.

Spectacular image. I actually like the bottom right and would have extended the frame on the left to not cut off the last guy.
Jenseye (Jen) added a critique 1 year ago:
I like this image...only one thing, it would be much better for me if you could see the whole reflection.
caryscott (Cary Scott) added a critique 1 year ago:
I think the crop is good (i like the light reflection) and I don't hink the composition would be that great if the whole reflection was showing. I would, however like the berries to be a little sharper.
willie_901 (william) added a critique 1 year ago:
Spectacular lighting.
bbonner (Bonner Photographic) added a critique 1 year ago:
Very nice currant portrait. I don't care for how the berries are cut off on the left. If I was going to offer a suggestion on the cropping - it would be to bring the cropping in much tighter. That way the it looks intentional then. Right now there seems to be plenty of space and so it doesn't visually flow as well.

Not much to say in terms of criticism. This image works all around for me. Great symmetry, nicely composed, good use of DOF and interesting colour. The figure in the distance is great.
bioLarzen (In retreat) added a critique 1 year ago:
The only thing I can hold against this one is that what I'm looking at here draws my attention so much I don't realize the play the lights and shadows play here.
Very good shot.
visualize (Jason) added a critique 1 year ago:
I like the colors and the human silhouette really adds to the shot. Great symmetry.
Pi-Production (Eric Rousset) added a critique 1 year ago:
The symmetry and the colors works perfectly with the "Lights&Shadows", well done

... did you go to an other planet ?
amazing !
Perfect reflection but maybe it will be better to crop the right part of the pic....
