Churches (11 months ago)

What a great little church perched on the edge of a grassy field. The rust tones offset the green very nicely and the black foreground leads one into the photo. I even like the second cross on the left. However, there is way too much going on! The power lines are not part of the story and the blue structure takes away from the main topic. How about a much closer shot out of the grass from a low perspective to give a sense of the power of the mountain backdrop while cropping out all the extraneous stuff. THere is good color here to be formed. Go for it!

agree, composition could be better, the birds in the sky, if they are birds are distracting to me, I would have painted them out
grahambo (Graham Siebe) added a critique 11 months ago:
I think the idea behind the composition is good.
If the birds were removed, then converted to B&W (mostly on the red channel so the church would stand out), I don't think the other issues (power lines, blue building, cell tower) would be as noticeable.

The main distraction for me was the birds, I love the green grass contrasting against the red. I agree with grahambo on the blue building but I think the power lines give it a perspective in time and express the rural area.

I love the idea but find the sky very distracting, could be the birds or the hazy brightness.

There are a couple of things that do not convince me in this picture:
some elements, as the network line, poles and steel tower take out a right atmosphere; Do you think would be possible to clone such elements?
I would like to ssee more contrast in the picture;
I would have applied the rule of thirds keeping the church either on the left or on the right.
I would suggest to you to try to introduce the above "improvements" and to see the result.

I convey this is a beautiful little church. However, I'm not fond of this composition with the subject so centered. In addition, the electric cables are very (too much ?) present in the image.
