Hey Nick. I think this is a really neat concept to play around with. I love the tones of the deep redish browns, with the white, and the hard black. I think I would have preferred there be just slightly more in focus, or shifting the focus a tad bit closer to to us.

This is a nice example of how far one can go with DOF playing. I follow Brian's remark about the 'just lightly more in focus'.

This is an interesting and good attempt, but your focal point, in my opinion, needs to be slightly larger. What is your subject? What are you trying to say with this shot?

@Thank for the comments. This was an exercise in shallow DOF. At the same time I was trying to measure min focus distance. This was shot using a Canon 17-85 lens @85 and f5.6 (wide open). I used an everyday artifact to help me measure.
