Thanks all for the fice critiques!
Beamer, I see what you mean. The thing is, I kind of like that fact, it gives it somewhat of a "trompe l'oeil" feel - meaning, you can't really tell which rail is receeding or coming forward.
I do value the feedback, though, because I wasn't really thinking about those to lines being tangent.
pfeel (Phil Verges) said 11 months ago:
oops, I meant to say "those two lines being tangent."

I love this photo! The colors are great, the composition is wonderful and so is the lighting. It just goes to show that anything can be beautiful in the right eye!

The body language here is very interesting. Ultimately, however, I come away not understanding this woman's situation - maybe this is the point?

This is a very dramatic!I like the lighting in this shot...I like the way its mostly on one side of her face...and then a bit on her temple....nice shot.

good light.
but cropped head and the pose I dont get.
kombizz (kombizz kashani) added a critique 11 months ago:
like her facial expression and her body language
would be nice not to crop out the tip of her head
Nick (Nick) added a critique 11 months ago:
I keep coming back to this. I like the image because of the mystery created by the pose. What is she trying to tell me. I can't figure it out, and that keeps me coming back to the image.

WONDERFUL IDEA !!! My favourite photo - such a simple idea brought to perfection. Even my little son plays with the spoon reflection every lunchtime but to do this with it would never come to my mind. Congratulations playful soul !

Beautiful shot, nicely done. To make it just a bit better, paint out the bright light with the star burst near the waterline on the right.

I love paths to the beach. Nice shadows.
pfeel (Phil Verges) added a critique 11 months ago:
Nice concept and idea.
I would probably make the line of the path/grass a little lower, along the top 1/3 of the image. If there's more of the path at the bottom, you could show more of it by using a wider angle lens. It looks like it might be veering off to our left, but that's not necessarily bad. Experiment with different angles, too, maybe getting low to the ground would make for more impact.
Unfortunately, the image is also a little grainy. Maybe it's been oversharpened?
Finally, I like the choice of B&W.
nattfodd (Alexandre Buisse) added a critique 11 months ago:
Nice image, but I feel the composition would be a lot stronger without the inferior third, and a bit more off-centre.

Boyd,
Works for me as is - certainly, there is wisdom in the above comments - but, you've got a good and strong photo here.
Best,

Classy. Perfect. Great tones. Great focus. Great subject. Don't change a thing!
Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 11 months ago:
Very sinister looking, great tension. My first 5 thoughts were that there was something wrong or off about the classic framing. BUT, the more I look at it the more that it makes me look, which is great!!

good dof
Very pretty, great shot. I you had moved the camera about 4 inches higher, the top rail would separate from itself near the top of the image where it turns the corner. That's the only part that bothers me, now they are just tangent to each other and almost touch.
