I like the composition with the cluster of bright edged leaves to the left, balanced by the darker area to the right.
Perhaps if you applied some selective sharpening to the area around large drop and petal...?
Naturespixel (Leisa Hennessy) added a critique 1 year ago:
nothing seems to be in perfect focus :(...
maybe try a different angle.. try getting down low you maybe able to get some reflection in the drops.. or try a tighter crop?? i am in love with teh colours tho :)
agme (Dmitry Antipov) added a critique 1 year ago:
problems with focus
average 'oh what a nice flower' shot

I like this shot. Although I think it could use some sharpening on the petals.

Such pretty colors and a good composition. If only it were sharper!
Best,
Jon

Very well executed shot.
To me this invokes sadness as you are then planning your final resting place.
I wonder what the people in the graves would do if they new there was a for sale sign right next to their grave.
Naturespixel (Leisa Hennessy) said 1 year ago:
thanks mate , all i would hope is that its not second hand ...lol
there are 4 of them for sale in the grave yard next door i find it mildly amusing ^.^
Laurie (Laurie) said 1 year ago:
This is rather amusing really. Maybe they didn't like the neighbors and decided to move out. ;D (No offense meant to you of course.)

I think the cut wings show how expansive they really are...and the swan in the back is your typical backseat driver. I concur, nice capture.

Poor little thing looks like it's about to drop dead. I just want to cuddle it...
uncommondepth (Roberta Murray) said 8 months ago:
Thanks for the comments. @Andrew - this little bird is just fine. It lives most of its life in the Arctic and only comes south to our location in the winter if it's a bad winter. So whenever we see the flocks of Redpolls we know it's going to be a long, cold winter here.

This is very nice Andrew! Simple, fun, and perfect for the theme.
psychodudu (Andrew Parker) said 8 months ago:
I wish the snow was whiter, but it's so difficult geting the light just right, even when you are overexposing and adjusting WB.
@ Roberta - Muchas gracias!

just wondering, what was your set up for this pic? i was there the other night taking pictures and St. Pauls seems awfully far away here, like the perspective is exaggerated or something. Could just be me though, either way, awesome pic!!!
gtvone (Simon Pollock) said 9 months ago:
Ah!.. I was wondering what I did there, but, nothing special actually... it's all in the old lens..[see below]
Camera: Canon EOS 30D
Exposure: 5 sec (5)
Aperture: f/4.5
Focal Length: 10 mm
ISO Speed: 100
Exposure Bias: 0/3 EV
Flash: Flash did not fire
