Wow ~ what a gorgeous scene! Amazing capture. I love everything about it (the light, rays, composition & perspective...). :)

Nice action shot - whilst it is a little blurry it doesn't take away from the action.

Nice work!

CouCou33 (Ingrid) added a critique 7 months ago:

agreed with the above comments: too blury (or may be too croped?).
And it would be nice to see the entier sail of the flying guy...
But I do love the waves and the water movement :-)

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) said 7 months ago:

Hey, thanks all. This was taken with a very long VR lens and my bad, but handheld. So yes it is a bit soft. The upper left guy is attached to a kite that is 50-60 feet above him, so at this framing impossible to get the kite in the shot. I know the depth perception is compressed through this lens, but it looked to me like the kite guy went right over the head of the sailboard guy!!

taikrixel (thomas mueller) added a critique 7 months ago:

well composed, but for me it would bebbetter with more sharpness and the focus on the first person.

CouCou33 (Ingrid) added a critique 7 months ago:

My bad for the flying guy... should have seen that it was a kite surfer.

I wish there was some connection between Sylvester and the 2 walker in the foreground. And, NO, he is eyeing something else all together!!

Wow.
I am impressed with the use of negative space here.
Usually it would be a bit distracting for so much space but it works well with this image!
The shadow on the right, to me, leads me into the rest of the shot.

willie_901 (william) added a critique 7 months ago:

A classic. Very very nice indeed.

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 7 months ago:

Congrats on the feature. I'm commenting too late I guess, others have already said most of what I was thinking the yesterday when I first saw this...

One day to a feature must be some kind of a Vazaar record???

MrVertigoo (Tomer Rozenblum) added a critique 7 months ago:

Great double shadow, very good photo.

guczo (Attila Balogh) added a critique 7 months ago:

Wonderful lighting. I'd cut the right half out altogether though.

Beautiful photo, everything in this photo works for me, the background, lighting, colors...amazing job!

boyd added a critique 7 months ago:

I agree with Noah that the concept and execution of this shot is very good, with a strong composition. I am wondering what it might have been like if a small reflector (white A4 paper or similar) could have been used to through a little more light onto the darker side of the keys to bring out a touch more detail. Regardless, it is a very striking shot.

sfkp (Tamara) said 7 months ago:

I made antoher photo of my balkonydoor and uploaded it too: www.vazaar.com/topic:everyday-artifacts/photos/id:...
It's from a slightly diffrent angle and in b&w. I didn't use a reflector, but the keys are more in detail.

MrVertigoo (Tomer Rozenblum) added a critique 7 months ago:

i like the idea. the colors on the photo are a bit strange. good work!

sfkp (Tamara) said 7 months ago:

Yeah, the colours are a bit strange but I did that on purpose. I liked this surreal effect. I wanted to try out making a image what's diffrent from what I usually make. It's a bit pink just caused by postprocessing.

very interesting photo..I love how you captured the folds in the papers!

Pradeep (Pradeep P) added a critique 7 months ago:

Hey this is nice. i guess a tighter composition will make it better.
Cheers.

boyd added a critique 7 months ago:

I look at this and think that it almost needs a full ashtray, empty coffee cup or something that indicates help to get through all those pages. I don't think that the composition is loose. The pile seems to draw me in so that I am twisting and turning trying to read a word or get a hint that will place this mysterious collection of papers. It is, after all, interpretation of an everyday artifact, well captured.

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 7 months ago:

Hate to say it, but I agree with Shiv on this one - the composition doesn't serve the subject well, in my opinion. Great stuff here, but the comp. isn't quite there.

Best to you!
Jon

Very nice work! Nice to see you on Vazaar - hope your stay here is a profitable one. Your photo is quite striking. The eyes of the man on the right seem to look right through you.

very good, people don't take many photos of cigarettes packs in my opinion. I like it very much

JimiThing (Jim Machajewski) added a critique 7 months ago:

Great photo. My only nit is that the crop on the bottom is just nipping the corner of the pack of smokes. This seems like an error as opposed to purposefull.

Beautiful colors :)

Kind of not pc, i guess - nonetheless, love it - great shot.
