Maybe the picture would be more exciting if you crop it in a way that you won't see the hill the trees are standing on?
Nice gradient.

lbstone (Brandon Stone) added a critique 1 year ago:

If you removed the hill it would be a different photo... probably just as good, but different. I don't really see any need to remove the hill... it works well for me by grounding the trees and I enjoy the outline of the bumps and plants.

My only complaint is that the trees feel a little confined. My eyes want to see more air on the left and right of the trees. That's probably more of a personal choice, though. Not something that everyone would agree with.

I would also suggest using a higher quality JPG compression setting... With the lower setting the sky gets a little muddy and there are compression artifacts around the leaves that I find distracting.

This is a strong graphical image... nice bold colors and a deep black silhouette. I bet this would do well as stock photography.

I like the hills, you don't if they are in the foreground or the background. 3D

I love the gradient of the sky going from orange to blue. I don't think it fits the theme since the trees seem to be more of the subject than the sky is. An excellent picture all around though.

Colors are interesting, but as suggested by Brandon, you should remove the hill : it will let the sky be the subject of the pic.
Also your pic will fit better in the topic, which subject is skyscapes ;).

Since I'm new here, should I take out the hills and then re-upload it? Does this lose all of these comments?

You can't actually edit any images once they've been uploaded. You can, of coarse re-submit them as another submission.

i agree with lbstone that the trees look confined. The color are interesting and i like the simplicity of the photo.

I actually like the hill in this image, but maybe the picture would fit better in a "Silhouette" theme...

Thanks to all for the comments! It's kinda funny how each of us see different things in each photo! Thanks again!
