It looks more like a snapshot than like a artistic nude photograph. The lighting is flat and the background distracting...

This is a nice sunset scene. The quality of the image is very low though. I am not sure if this was a digital image or a scan of a film image, but there is a lot of grain and pixelation which detracts from the overall scene quite a bit. It almost looks like the sharpening filter was used very heavily because of the highlighting around the edges.
I do not scan film, so if this was a film image I can't offer any suggestions for improvement, but if this was a digital image, I would say back off on the processing. Some softness in this type of image is acceptable, even expected.
Michael (Michael Bakker) said 1 year ago:
@uncommondepth, yes it is an analog photograph and I've processed it after that. Thanks for you're comment!

agree with uncommondepth. but would still like to say superb capture, it is beautiful execpt for the issues mentioned. will you repost?

The colours are just wonderful. It is a pity that the sky is grainy. Perhaps the foreground could have an even larger contrast to the background?

wow...what a wonderful capture...the color is great

Michael, for me this photo shows the beauty,
enjoying the overwhelming beauty of the wonderful life around her.She plays a lesser but integral role in this for me.
mysight (Carl H. Sr.) added a critique 1 year ago:
P.S. Michael, names in photos really cheapen the look of the overall image for me.Sorry if that sounds harsh, but I truly believe your photos are safe here.
Michael (Michael Bakker) said 1 year ago:
@ alohaphoto: thank you for you're comment! It was my idea to make her one with the background. like she belongs to her surrounding.
@ mysight: you're first comment: that was my goal :)
But what is you're suggestion? Or do you think the image is finished as it now is?
second: I think that is a little bit naïf to think you're photo's cannot be copied everybody can copy you're photo's ;)
mysight (Carl H. Sr.) added a critique 1 year ago:
Oh,I really like the photo as it is.
I just wish there was a less obtrusive way to claim it as your own, thats all.
Is this straight from the camera or a little post processed?
Michael (Michael Bakker) said 1 year ago:
It is a little post processed, levels, curves, and colors. (and off course some UM).

A nice soft rendition. The eyes have it! But, just a little too much green on the face, especially noticeable on the chin. Good one.

I keep looking at this.
It kind of has a Martin Parr look and feel to it.
Awesome!

Very moody shot. I love it! The only constructive criticism is a lack of contrast - normally I would do a curves>strong contrast adjustment but the more I look at this I realise the hazy look really works for you. Great work!
tuscanice (Jo) added a critique 1 year ago:
Love the lighting on this. I agree about the slight contrast tweek..but very slight:)

This is nice shot! I would like to see the face of DJ.
Michael (Michael Bakker) said 1 year ago:
thanks for you're comments, the hazy looks is also formed by the "smoke" machine.. but I will try the suggestion about the curves and look what I can improve.. thanks for you're comments!

I like the fact that the DJ is focused on his music. Nice lighting and great atmosphere.
