I have been trying to capture bugs for a few months, but I haven't been able to get any to hold still remotely long enough to compose a shot. What tricks did you use? I find myself staring into the eyes. I love it.

@Johnny : I can just give you 2 advices, as I have no real trick.
First of all, you must be very patient. When I make macro shots, among 50 pics I usually keep 3 to 5, and the rest goes to the bin..
Second, and although I never have tried it yet, some people pretend that insects are more quiet early in the morning. This could be explained by the coldness of the night : they need to "receive" the sun, before recovering their vivacity. ;-)
