Bravo Mark!! I'm speechless.

MMeye said 1 year ago:

Excellent... I definitely love the way you "see" the world and people :-)

Thank you Brant and MMeye. Noticing how I view the world is one of the highest compliments I've ever received. My niece currently holds the number one spot when she told me that my work is 'honest.' Thanks again.

Beautiful capture again Mark. I agree with MMeye - the way you "see" people is wonderful.

What a powerful portrait. Absolutely beautiful.

Sher (Sher Hilliard) said 1 year ago:

mark - is this the same man in your "orange" photo?" The man holding/peeling the orange?

kitaoka (Mark Kitaoka) said 1 year ago:

Morning Sher. Yes it is the same man, Eugene. My exhibit is fast approaching and the image of his hands holding the orange will be a very prominent part of the show. As such I wanted an image of him to hang next to those magnificent hands! So I arranged to go to his home two weekends ago to photograph him.

Sher (Sher Hilliard) said 1 year ago:

Mark - Somehow I sensed his face matched those hands holding the orange. I hope your show goes fantastically well! I'm happy, envious, and excited all at the same time! (Does one say "break a leg" for a photo show?) I wish you the very best, always. You are wonderful at what you do, a true artist I attempt to both learn from, and ascribe to be more like.

kitaoka (Mark Kitaoka) said 1 year ago:

It's so interesting that so many people match Eugene's face with his hands. And it's really great that he now tells me that he feels 'famous!' I think 'break a leg' is for those that perform, but I am grateful for your well wishes.

And there is never a reason to be envious. We all know that there are so many wonderful photographic artists out there, many of them right here on Vazaar. Being invited to exhibit one's work is a combination of many things, one of them being a bit of luck. Having someone notice your work and then asking to have you exhibit is in large part luck. So yes, I feel very fortunate to have this event, but for me it certainly does not mean that my work is any better than many of those who display their art here.

I've been fortunate to have a few things happen that I honored to be a part of and the exhibit is only a small part of my good fortune. This community as well as your kind words are never taken for granted and always appreciated. Thanks Sher.
