i like the position you captured him in. the way his face is turned and how he's holding his cigarette. the car does annoys me.. maybe if you cropped out and over exposed everything but the old man it would solve the problem. nice portrait jordan :)

Thanks for your comments. The car annoys me as well, however it's extremely difficult to take photos of my grandpa, because if he realizes you are he'll look at the camera and make a goofy face. I've tried removing it in PS but it always comes out weird.
I guess the only solution is to try the shot again, but thanks guys for confirming my suspicions about what was hurting the shot.

I love the profile and the tone of the face, but it seems to be fighting with the car behind. Not sure how to fix that, other than to suggest a different composition.
