Very nice image...and I think b&w would be a good choice too.

Reflection of the sky is great.

Nice ride. Not so fond of the reflections though. Probably just a personal thing :p
andygibb (Andy Gibb) added a critique 1 year ago:
nice close crop and works well with the cloud reflection
Hanssie (Hans Stellingwerf) added a critique 4 months ago:
Maybe some more sharpness but it's a great shot, also with the spectacular clouds included !

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough in my statement regarding the composite ~ only because it is such a wonderful once in a lifetime shot someone could. think it was a composite. I didn't mean to imply that I thought it was! :)
I myself captured some lightening this summer, tho not nearly as dramatic or beautiful; but a cool thing anyway.
If you're interested, you can see it here:

Lightning photos are my favorite. I also try to capture it but have yet to be successful. I love the picture and hopefully one day I will submit one as great as yours.
athamanass (thanos) added a critique 9 months ago:
It's strange way of thinking but the fact that this image could easily be a composite makes it less important than it should be. Eventhough it real and what you capture is very unique we have seen it so many times in fake images and thus a little bit of magic and power is lost.
Of course as everybody else I think it's a brilliant shot anyway

Great shot. Timing IS everything. Lonely country feel, awesome.

amazing shot,not much critique possible,
but if i were nitpicking,i'd wonder what this shot would look like if it were wider.

Very cool :) Just one question - how did you take the picture - I can't see the shadow of the camera...?
cutebutstupid (Amy Baxter) added a critique 10 months ago:
Nicely done. Great idea.
nattfodd (Alexandre Buisse) said 10 months ago:
@redcat77: I was waiting for someone to ask the question :)
I had the camera on a strap around my neck, a wide-angle lens and simply put it on timer.

Looks like ice at the seashore. Could feel like a really cold scene, but the color balance of this image is so warm that you loose most of the "cold" feeling. I would also have cropped a little off the right to loose the bit of fence peeking in. Nice composition otherwise, well balanced.
Jenseye (Jen) added a critique 8 months ago:
Wonderful image and I agree with Beamer I would lose that bit of the fence. But a very different snow image indeed. Well done!
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 8 months ago:
This is a beautiful shot and I too think the fence needs to go! It brings in a quality of the ordinary and mundane which doesn't help this shot at all. I would love to experience this one without the fence. Nice effort!
Best,
Jon

Extraordinary perspective--really nice work. I love what you have going on here...just super!
LeStro added a critique 5 months ago:
Beautiful photo. I agree that the white balance should be adjusted to go with the cold better. Maybe also B&W would work.

Nice shot !
Perhaps to 'border line' on the right side (the ring is croped) - I think it should have be better if more zoom out.
Cheers,
Guillaume

Alittle to oversaturated color. you start to see artifacts.
Would make a great painting.
What kind of camera did you shoot this with?

WOW what awesome colour and contrast. Nice job.

This is very good...I can hear the jazz. I love the musician's head, very surreal and abstract; it fits the genre of music.

I love the bicycle...but it is a bit blurry, hard to see the lovely details it holds.
willie_901 (william) added a critique 1 year ago:
Sharpness cam be over rated. The blurriness works for me. What doesn't work is the blown out window. To fix this would require radically different lighting or multiple exposures. There seems to be a great deal of chromatic abberation. Perhaps this is intentional. I can't make up my mind as to whether this image is brlliant or mediocre. I always enjoy a good mystery!
warreagle (Amy Warr) said 1 year ago:
thanks for the comments...took this on a tour of a castle that was more like a museum so I didn't really have much say in the lighting and such....but I like the old bike.
Rainybeet (John Bonner) added a critique 1 year ago:
I think that the table poking through the wheel is distracting, and the placement of the wheel right in the middle of the frame is a bit bland. It is really hard to take pictures when your vantage point is chosen for you. I think you did a great job under the circumstances.
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 6 months ago:
A little soft - just misses being a great shot!
Best,
Jon
Wow Nick, this one is a killer. Wonder why no comments on this so far. Great job!
