The orange/black contrast stands out here. Very nice DOF and great detail.

narnold (Noah Arnold) added a critique 9 months ago:

wow...amazing detail...great color...awesome photo overall!

photoaholic (Geoffrey Reynertz) added a critique 7 months ago:

just one word : amazing

snaps (Dana N) added a critique 4 months ago:

Wow. Great everything. Did you have to do a lot of post processing?

leetsil (Bernhard Plank) said 4 months ago:

@snaps, not much... just a bit with the "Levels tool" in photoshop

Este tipo de composiciones me atraen mucho. Buen trabajo. Enhorabuena. Saludos

Pixim (Eric) said 11 months ago:

It misses just the mouth. I like much, and I acknowledge you that you give me desire for testing this kind of catch of sight. So long.

JeBeKe (Jan Verbeke) said 11 months ago:

@Eric: I miss the mouth too, but it' logical you don't see it, because there is just no hair on the lips. The rest of the visible skin is covered with hair, the lips not.

Why am I not surprised Misu is the first who adds a photo to this topic? Hahaha.

Really good job, misu!

misu (Mikhail Palinchak) said 7 months ago:

Tamara, check the photos in topic! I'm not the first :) Thanks Tamara!

sfkp (Tamara) said 7 months ago:

Misu, I'm not taken Ana's photo serieus. To me, you are the first :)

Ana (Ana Cortez) said 7 months ago:

I love her pose (and I agree with Susie..OUCH).
However, the halo and brightness of her skin near the black areas takes away from what could be an amazing photograph.
Either too much processing up there, or not the right background.

TheOldMan (Mel Buckpitt) said 6 months ago:

Excellent shot!! The pose is a classic.

a heartbreaking photo, i would have croped the bottom

JeBeKe (Jan Verbeke) said 7 months ago:

Valid remark, Tomer. Thx.

prometheus (Thomas) added a critique 7 months ago:

Beautiful shot indeed. I would have cropped a little of the top, too. Becaus the part of the fave behind disturbes a little bit

ScottCrouse (Scott Crouse) added a critique 7 months ago:

A much closer crop would be more effective.

BeppeRdam (Giuseppe Moscarda) added a critique 7 months ago:

good capture but not closed enought to comunicate very strong emotions

JeBeKe (Jan Verbeke) said 8 months ago:

The detail and the contrast is indeed great.

pixelmaze (Christine Grabig) said 8 months ago:

I love it!

Ana (Ana Cortez) said 7 months ago:

The only change I'd make to this is to get rid of the blue in the upper, left corner.
Otherwise
WOW

beautiful eyes... I like the framing.

spankyb added a critique 8 months ago:

love the s/c ... well done

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 8 months ago:

Great face, very nicely captured, very clean. I don't like the selective saturation here, it just distracts me from the otherwise lovely photo.

JeBeKe (Jan Verbeke) added a critique 7 months ago:

I'm not so fond of the selective saturation here neither. The photo is indeed very lovely, although I would have increased the contrast to make it even stronger.

willie_901 (william) added a critique 7 months ago:

The S/C makes her look like a zombie. How sad... because every thing else is right on the money.

So temm me. If it took you 10 hours to do the S/C instead of 10-20 minutes, would you still do it?

O camera eh... nicely captured.

narnold (Noah Arnold) added a critique 8 months ago:

beautiful photo, I get a sense of lonliness from this photo, great job!

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 8 months ago:

Agree with all above, my only critique is to straighten the image. In this type of image having the horizontals straight is very important.

JeBeKe (Jan Verbeke) added a critique 7 months ago:

Well done, this b&w picture and the 'far far end' feeling I get. The only remark is indeed the small tilt.

CEG added a critique 7 months ago:

Great shot. Your choice of B&W really creates a feel.

Neuner added a critique 8 months ago:

I really like the color and how the bow of the boat is in your face.

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 8 months ago:

I remember looking at this a month ago and not knowing what to really make of it... Same reaction now. The boat is quite interesting, the buildings are interesting, the sky is nice but blow out. There seems to be no real focus of interest or appeal for me. Not sure how to improve this framing. My only suggestion would be to try to explore the boat without the buildings taking such a prominent role.

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 8 months ago:

I would crop out the building on the right - somehow this creates a tension that is currently missing. Just my 2 cents, of course.

Best,
Jon

narnold (Noah Arnold) added a critique 8 months ago:

I can really feel the size of the boat, I really like the colors of this photo as well, I have to agree with Jon, maybe cut the buiding on the right, but I really like the feel of this photo!

JeBeKe (Jan Verbeke) added a critique 7 months ago:

The wide angle is very nice here. I think I would have put this one in black and white, with a strong contrast.

What a happy photo. the blues are beautiful. What is the frog on?

TerynYancey (Teryn Yancey) said 8 months ago:

the frog is on a pool cleaner

CEG added a critique 7 months ago:

Nice colors. Makes me want to help the little guy out. Great shot!

JeBeKe (Jan Verbeke) added a critique 7 months ago:

Great shot indeed. You can even see the reflection in the cleaner. I think cropping it so that the frog's leg almost reaches the bottom right corner, will make the picture stronger.
