It took me quite awhile to figure out what this was. It is obvious that the object was in the process of falling, but it really took me awhile to figure out it was chocolate covered ice cream (at least I hope that's what it is!). Although the image is technically fine I don't find it to have much interest. There is nothing compelling to stir me. Perhpas if you were to create more of a story; why did the ice cream fall, who did it belong to, etc. It would have more impact. The stark white background creates a sterile environment that makes the image too clinical.

You have done a good job of capturing the object just as it is smashing apart. I don't imagine this action would be repeatable had your timing been off and you failed to capture it at just the right moment, so I do commend you on that. The exposure and other technical elements are good.

Thank you for your long comment! Actually it's not ice cream but a chocolate covered marshmellow (I don't know if there is a special english word for this). It's with whipped cream inside, foam-like.

I chose this sterile environment by intention. My only aim was to catch the moment of crash. Actually, it's shortly after the crash when the thing bounces back into the air ;)

I like it, and think it's a very interesting subject. I would never have thought of doing something like this.

But I do agree with uncommondepth about the background. The white from the marshmallow blends in with the white background too much. I might have used the burn tool in photoshop on the edeges of the marshmallow to make it pop a bit. I'm not very good at this criticism thing yet, so I hope I offered something decent.

I think this is a great shot for what it is, however I agree with uncommondepth, It has nothing to draw my interest to it, Maybe adding a child's hand or something would cure that. :0)

well all i can say is YUMMM!!! This shot makes me reach for a sugar fix! I think you did really well to capture the moment of impact.
