Amazing amoeba,or one of those seed-pods that turns wooden and brown when dried?
Beautiful greens!

JENRIKS (Jens & Erik) said 1 year ago:

Right, it's the pistil of a lotus blossom.

JENRIKS (Jens & Erik) said 1 year ago:

Awesome colors and great texture on the wall! The contrast betwenn the straight horizontal lines of the wall and the curves lines of the car (?) are a good eye-catcher!

zenith9 (Bob and Jeannie) said 1 year ago:

There are many things i really like about this - the positioning and vibrancy of the colours, the dark shadows and blisters of paint. It is often difficult to spot this sort of thing from a distance, well done.

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

Thank you. This photo is quite old: the car is a 2CV...
:o)

excellent! well done! colours and composition: fine!
(is the line between ground and wall predefined? Or did you arrange the scene?)

JENRIKS (Jens & Erik) said 1 year ago:

Hm, I'm not sure if understand what exactly you mean. But one thing is for sure: I did not arrange anything when taking this picture.

joka (Johannes Kapp) said 1 year ago:

so: extra compliments! I thought this scene could be arranged in a studio.
again: wonderful picture!

Definitely one of the most interesting in Symmetry that I've seen. Great job!

JENRIKS (Jens & Erik) said 1 year ago:

Thank you all again! Symmetry is on of our most popular topics when taking photos and it lies so much beauty and peace in symmetric photos...

boughey (Adrian Boughey) added a critique 1 year ago:

I actually think the post-processing employed in this image works very well; it really makes the most of the metallic material of the walls.

birba (Roberto Pagani) added a critique 1 year ago:

Very nice capture.

JENRIKS (Jens & Erik) added a critique 1 year ago:

The quality is bad. There's no really sharp point or level in the image and the expoure time was too long to have the "freezed" look on the water and too short to have a foggy/silky look. Colors also aren't interesting at all. Sorry, doesn't work for me in any way.

MarkDM (Mark Dodge Medlin) added a critique 1 year ago:

There is potential here, and the composition isn't bad, with the "point" of the falls and the missile-shaped rock playing off one another. Some things to consider next time:

A longer shutter speed for a more elegant look to the water.

Cropping up a good inch to inch and a half from the bottom; there's not a lot going on below the missile-shaped rock.

I'd also come down a bit from the top; that's an awful lot of grass up there.

Finally, it looks as though your jpeg is so compressed, much of the image quality is lost. Try a less compressed version next time.

willie_901 (william) added a critique 1 year ago:

I agree with the prior comments. This is over exposed by at least 1/2 stop.

byutanner (Jason Tanner) added a critique 1 year ago:

Yeah agreed. The thumbnail looked good, but I'm disappointed with the lack of sharpness.

My favorite so far out of the group! It almost looks like an illustration, which is awesome.

JENRIKS (Jens & Erik) said 1 year ago:

Oh, that one really is a great symmetric photo! Would have worked rotated 90° clockwise also, because that woul be even more puzzling.

twiart (Kheoh Yee Wei) said 1 year ago:

wow ! I see it as a FLAWLESS symmetric photo!

Heath (Heath Carney) said 1 year ago:

you shoot it in weimar. nice captured and i like the processing too.

JENRIKS (Jens & Erik) said 1 year ago:

Ha, you're from Weimar and noticed it? OK, at this intersection, right next to the "Forum" it's clearly visible. We were playing a concert in Weimar the day I shot it.

Thanks for your appreciation!

Finally, someone posts something which *actually* depicts Urban Decay! This is fantastic, so much to study and look at. Well done, on this feature Jens & Erik.

Sher (Sher Hilliard) said 1 year ago:

I totally agree with Andrew...fantastic photo. How sad to see such a lovely building destroyed this way. True "urban decay" great photo for this category.
