This looks like sand dunes or something more exotic than a sculpture. Fantastic!
bulletproofheeb (Adam) said 1 year ago:
I love the lines but wanted to know what it was of, or if there was a lot of manipulation. After seeing the sculpture I have to say that your picture is better than the actual subject. Amazing.

Rhey try to make cigarettes glamorous and healthy with pretty woman and handsome strong men a smok'n... Well this makes smoking look wise, even humble! Of course tobacco is very important and sacred in some cultures. I'd like to see this in BW... :)
JENRIKS (Jens & Erik) said 1 year ago:
I think the colors make it special. I tried BW and it didn't look good to me at all. But thank you for your nice words!

I love the look of serenity on this man's face. What a wonderful and interesting portrait.

I like it, and think it's a very interesting subject. I would never have thought of doing something like this.
But I do agree with uncommondepth about the background. The white from the marshmallow blends in with the white background too much. I might have used the burn tool in photoshop on the edeges of the marshmallow to make it pop a bit. I'm not very good at this criticism thing yet, so I hope I offered something decent.

wow. breathtaking one! for me it's perfect.
weeneydog (Keith Johnson) added a critique 1 year ago:
I think this is a great shot for what it is, however I agree with uncommondepth, It has nothing to draw my interest to it, Maybe adding a child's hand or something would cure that. :0)
azurepro added a critique 1 year ago:
well all i can say is YUMMM!!! This shot makes me reach for a sugar fix! I think you did really well to capture the moment of impact.

Nice find! I love color field abstraction in photography.
methan (András Németh) said 1 year ago:
wow, i chose this one so many times, congrats for the well deserved feature.
JENRIKS (Jens & Erik) said 1 year ago:
Thank you so very much, methan (and lbstone, too, of course!)
jodosh (Johnny Haddock) said 1 year ago:
I love it, but a quick touch up in PS could have the lines truly vertical which would make it not so infuriatingly distracting

Great simple shot.
Warhol would be proud.

Thanks!
Neuner said 1 year ago:
The image has a 3D quality to it that I like. The image is sharp, but with the contrasting colors & the double shadow, it tricks the eyes & looks blurry at a quick glance and then jumps into focus. I like this composition.

For me it's just: boring. There's no excitement, nothing special, just two roses. Sorry...
mikeock (Mike Adams) said 1 year ago:
veronicalynne,
thanks for the comment!
Glad that you liked it.
JENRIKS,
No worries.
To each his own opinion.
I like the shot you don't no biggie!
That's why i post them here to see why its not that exciting to others!
ikol22 (Fabrizio Zanelli) added a critique 1 year ago:
Well done Mike. It doesn't excite me because DOF or because DUO. What excites me so much it's that piece of building in the background. No matter what it is. It gives third dimension to the photo: Flowers, Building, Sky. That the reason I love it
chefron (Ron Ernst) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree with Jenriks. I looked at your other images and feel you are a better shooter then this image.
mikeock (Mike Adams) said 1 year ago:
chefron,
I can understand where you are coming from!
ikol22,
Different from your typical flower shot, thus the reason for posting!
Thanks for the critiques.

Thank you very much Alex and Anna. Not loving to insert same image on Vazaar, THIS is the link of same image where I tried to erase off the eyeglass arm.
Lindy (Lindy G) added a critique 1 year ago:
I like this ..I like the style and the way the eyes stand out. I like the creativeness of this.. and agreed also with the statements above .. it took me a minute to know what it was but then again things like that can be fun and intriguing in a shot too, overall it is creative and imaginative ..something I love to see!
ikol22 (Fabrizio Zanelli) said 1 year ago:
Thank you Lindy. You're flattering me :-) -- Anyway words like yours really helps and encourages. Thank you very much !
JENRIKS (Jens & Erik) added a critique 1 year ago:
Way too bright for my taste! There's too little details in it.
ikol22 (Fabrizio Zanelli) said 1 year ago:
jenriks, follow a definition of "High way": ""High key subjects concentrate on the lighter tones, using subject matter that is white or pale tones, and using flat overall lighting to avoid shadows"" (photography.about.com/library/glossary/bldef_highk...)

It's too dark and i don't really see the "vintage" thing in your editing. Sorry.
joka (Johannes Kapp) added a critique 1 year ago:
interesting landscape! (perhaps because of the "darkness" - I like this light!)

I think its a little flat, the clouds don't enough character for the scenery to stand out.
Curve and light is so great here.
