mosesport (Moses) added a critique 1 year ago:

The top left corner seems almost too bright, although I love the effect that was achieved. I'd also like to see this shot without the processing. Nice work, though!

jeninja-inja (Jenine Lindeque) added a critique 1 year ago:

quite daring post - i like it!!!

LadyWings (Kara Brothers) added a critique 1 year ago:

I agree with Laurie. The processing has taken away from the quality of the shot. Also, the top left corner is totally blown out and overpowers the entire shot. Just my opinion.

Heath (Heath Carney) added a critique 1 year ago:

I don't think the processing has taken away from the quality of the shot. I'm more inclined to think the processing was performed to try and rescue a less than ideal shot - with its blown out top corner and too-strong shadows. I know I've done it enough times!

boomer3297 said 1 year ago:

Heath is correct...the original photo was blown out at the top, and instead of scrapping the shot altogether I decided to put some extreme PP to it.

Chino (Najd Salas) said 1 year ago:

Hehe, cool. The lightning and composition work fine.

Btw, that's a weird Sign. No standing ?

Heath (Heath Carney) said 1 year ago:

Thanks Leigh-Anne and Najd.

Najd - it's actually a sign that means 'no parking'. It just happens to be low enough down on the wall that I could get this shot of me standing next to it :)

joka (Johannes Kapp) said 1 year ago:

Good capture, funny!

UnieX (Carlos Crooks) said 1 year ago:

Haha great capture! How could their be a sign that says "No standing"?? haha

tristantrc said 1 year ago:

Dream (Toni) said 1 year ago:

it is a nice scene as well.
it looks like the tree is dying :( but still makes a beautiful picture

Heath (Heath Carney) said 1 year ago:

I think I commented on this on your site, but I've gotta say it again. I just love the light and colour in this shot. Great work.

klimin_a_s (Andrew Klimin) said 1 year ago:

I love the saturated colours on this shot!

Thanks for the feature, people.

Philippe - this more like what you had in mind?

joka (Johannes Kapp) said 1 year ago:

It is in my fovorites too, I took the time to have a look at the other version. I prefer this one here.
Well done!

boulette (pepe alias boulette) said 1 year ago:

wonderful pic
(result of PS manipulation?)

Heath (Heath Carney) said 1 year ago:

Thanks boulette. Not much manipulation at all - this yellow square was painted on the side of an old, disused concrete industrial tank. A little curves and saturation adjustment, but that's about all.

philippe (Philippe Reichert) said 1 year ago:

Yes, I like better the FlickR version.
;o)

Paulforrester (Paul Forrester) said 1 year ago:

very cool-what is this?

tengtan (Teng Tan) said 1 year ago:

Thanks, Paul. It's a close-up of a ceiling structure in the modern and huge Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia.

Paulforrester (Paul Forrester) said 1 year ago:

Cool-its the best airport i have ever been in-great shot once again!

Heath (Heath Carney) said 1 year ago:

Nice one, Teng. I was sitting in KL airport a few months ago wishing I had the time to get my camera out of my luggage and wandering around to get some shots like this!

tengtan (Teng Tan) said 1 year ago:

Thanks, Heath. I too was quite hassled by the inconvenience of travelling with my Lowepro backpack and a tripod (!) to boot. But I guess my preoccupation during this recent trip had a will of its own and there were luckily some shots to show for it.

What a fantastic Image this is. You deserve being featured with that. I like how I can see the movement of the hands.

lbstone (Brandon Stone) said 1 year ago:

You had another version of this that wasn't quite as dark.

www.vazaar.com/topic:embrace-the-blur/responses/re...

I definitely prefer this darker one. I think the blackness really cleans up the background and even adds a bit of mystery.

Very nice.

Heath (Heath Carney) said 1 year ago:

Thanks Brandon. I much prefer this darker, slightly more tightly cropped version as well.

I also put a slight colour cast over this one, which darkened the skin tones a little as well.

I like how this is so obviously a church, without the need to show steeple/cross/etc.

Great colours and composition, too.
