Heath (Heath Carney) added a critique 1 year ago:

I really like the angle and perspective in this shot. But I think it could be improved by being sharper across the whole frame - things are starting to blur a little towards the top of the tower.

I see what your talking about! Thanks!

spherop (Daniel Newman) added a critique 1 year ago:

i would love to see this flipped concept but with losing the bottom part of the image - ie., the wheels and above...

boughey (Adrian Boughey) added a critique 1 year ago:

Creating a square crop without the bike but leaving the shadow would be a winner for me.

Ludimaginary (Richard Vantielcke) said 1 year ago:

Thanks for your comments !
I'm looking forward to get the opportunity to take a new photo with a frame foncusing on the shadow only.

aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) added a critique 1 year ago:

My two cents worth of comment would be to crop out the bottom as Ludimaginary suggests or even a bit lower to include approximately half of the wheels but not any of the backgound buildings. On my monitor I can get this effect by scrolling up as high as I can and using the bottom of my monitor as a means of testing the crop.

leaves added a critique 1 year ago:

the lower half of the photo hurts my head v.v - i think this photo would be better without flippage

but you certainly draw more attention to the shadow this way

nice work

Very fine composition!

the little white spec in the sky bothers me just a bit, but other than that.. this picture couldn't be any more perfect. I love when natural things can look so smooth like this, great photo!

SeekingFocus (Jason Langley) said 1 year ago:

Thanks for the comments, leaves.

That white thing is actually the first star of the night emerging after sunset. It was removed in a later version of this and I have to say, I'm much more pleased with the shot with out the star there...

phocrastinating (Prasanth V) added a critique 1 year ago:

love that lone star

Maybe we should call this one "The Howling" - Wonderful image. The subject in focus, the background slightly out of focus directs attention to the detail. The texture of the fur, the detail in the whiskers... I wonder what song is being sung.

Heath (Heath Carney) added a critique 1 year ago:

Amazing details in this shot. My only criticism would be those few whiskers that touch, or go out of the top edge of the frame.

Blumie (Sabine) said 1 year ago:

Thank you all for those nice comments. I did enjoy seeing them a lot.

Very cool shot, nice clearity, composition and colour. Good DOF.

tulna (Tulna Chauhan) added a critique 1 year ago:

Fantastic capture! Love the composition of this. I'm just wondering if it could be a touch too dark to totally appreciate all the detail...?

Wonderful light. I'm really fond of this kind of scene. Is this around Brisbane?

Heath (Heath Carney) said 1 year ago:

Thanks Philippe. This was taken at Coolum Beach on the sunshine coast - an hour or two north of Brisbane.

This looks like a painting! Amazing textures and color. Unless it really is a painting, I can't really tell.

Heath (Heath Carney) added a critique 1 year ago:

I'd like to see this shot without that purplish colour cast. Also, the high contrast, for me, only serves to lose details in the white shoulder feathers. It's a really good photo, but those couple of points detract quite a bit. I guess I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to wildlife photos - the wildlife is interesting enough without the need to add unusual processing.

azurepro said 1 year ago:

Thanks guys. I will upload the original untouched photo so you can see the difference. Appreciate the feedback very much.

very funny, now I want to know if it was intentional or not. :-)))

Lamdennison (Leigh-Anne Dennison) said 1 year ago:

Bravo!

Heath (Heath Carney) said 1 year ago:

Thanks guys.

Tracy - it wasn't intentional. Well, that's my story anyway, and I'm sticking to it! I was backing out of the driveway one morning and neglected to stop and check if Kylie was out of the way after opening the gate. It was the one time that I didn't check, and the one time that she wasn't out of the way. More of a bump than a 'running over'.
