It's awesome. How's it done?

Wow, very creative! Very anxious to learn the trick :)

jaco (Adrien Fauconnet) said 1 year ago:

it's a 30 seconds exposure (f9 i think) with a model on the bike .. and a guy had a maglight and made the outline with it toward the camera. it's a very simple trick

Nice one! Suits the topic in the original way. Reminds me of Chucky though...

methan (András Németh) said 1 year ago:

a spent some time to figure out what's reflected in the lighter eye, still not sure. is it the contour of a tree and a roof?
this image is in my top3 of this topic.

Wow, amazing sky o_O.

(I find the not horizontal horizon a little bit distracting.)

chromadreams (David) added a critique 1 year ago:

amazing, such a good postproduction work, I really like it a lot.
Nothing to critique here, maybe and only maybe, it's hangin at the rigth side of the photo but no more

mysight (Carl H. Sr.) added a critique 1 year ago:

Man,scary sky!
Did you twist the clouds a little?

nattfodd (Alexandre Buisse) said 1 year ago:

@chromadreams: thanks. I believe that the horizon is not tilted (just a bigger hill on the left) but that what gives this impression is the non-horizontal crop of the windows on the buildings in the foreground. I shall see about setting it straight.

@mysight: nope, they were really funny looking and threatening like this. I just used HDR to enhance the contrast.

Phoenix (Urvashi R) added a critique 1 year ago:

Wow! Love the image! The clouds look like rippling silk. I like the contrast between the apparently peaceful town and the dangerous-looking clouds.

This photo makes me look at it and wonder. What is happening in the background? And, what the guy in the wheel chair is thinking?

Almost as if the photo is telling two stories. Very nice!

Blizzard (Beef Jerky) said 1 year ago:

To me...this photograph can be seen as though the man's ship is coming in, or he has missed the boat. I guess that all depends on one's point of view when looking at this wonderful piece of work.

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. :)

Wow, amazing o_O.
Maybe I would crop a little bit of the sky and work on the levels of the picture.

Chino (Najd Salas) added a critique 1 year ago:

Well, I'm not really sure about this one. The mix between b&w and color, the composition with the blurry effect.
Original pictures look pretty good and I have to say I'll prefer so see each picture alone.
But as I say, it's all personal taste (I like having one focus point in pictures).

joka (Johannes Kapp) added a critique 1 year ago:

I think: successfull combination!

mikeock (Mike Adams) added a critique 1 year ago:

I think the effect would have been a bit starker if they had both been done in B&W.

GinaMoe (Virginia Byers) added a critique 1 year ago:

It looks like it could have been a great shot without the second image.

veronicalynne (veronica lynne) added a critique 1 year ago:

Personally, I agree with Chino and mikeock about the color variation. I think one or the other would have been best. The thing that I really find distracting is the way the poor guy's head is chopped off with the waves above. Sorta makes him look like a bald cancer survivor.

Very good use of Photoshop. Photo has good depth

aloha_photo (Jeff Sisemoore) added a critique 1 year ago:

I respectfully disagree. I think this is a good photo that has been over-photoshopped. The blur seems too heavily applied IMHO. I didn't realize the boat was on sand at first, because the blur was masking this interesting aspect of the shot. A more subtle use of the tool would enhance the boat, it seems to me. I suppose it's a matter of style, but I like a more natural application of photoshop, something that I struggle with myself.

Chino (Najd Salas) added a critique 1 year ago:

Same as aloha, a bit too much photoshop for me.

Lindy (Lindy G) added a critique 1 year ago:

beautiful shot .. with alot of potential ..but I agree also ..some of the effects is masking the true beauty of this...

mikeock (Mike Adams) added a critique 1 year ago:

Very nice shot.
Over processed IMO with the blur.
Really is hard to see that it is beached with the blur so high.
Lots of potential, would love to see another rendition!

this is an old traincar kitchen... perhaps should have submitted it to backlight instead

Chino (Najd Salas) added a critique 1 year ago:

I like it, good ambiance, but yeah, seems more backlight than train to me :).

msdedi (Linda) said 1 year ago:

thank you Chino... think I'll remove it from Trains
