This is a wonderful photo. You struck a perfect balance with the nearly pastel backdrop with the dark-suited man sitting to the side. Excellent.

Wonderful tones and contrast.
This has a real gritty feel to it.
Wonderful green that just pop out at you!

I like the lighting and the expression. Nice capture. Again the signature takes away from the photo. I really like this shot though.
Cate (Cate Bennett) added a critique 1 year ago:
Wow! This is a lovely candid scene. The light source and it's cast of light is nice; it really draws the viewer in to looking closer at all the illuminated features. Well done.
I agree with byutanner, ditch the signature line. Across the board, it's distracting and draws the eye away from the image.
Sher (Sher Hilliard) added a critique 1 year ago:
Again Andrew...a wonderful photo...but my eye is again caught by the signature. Possibly a border or frame with the signature if you feel you need one. The subject is great - as Jason said the lighting and expression are wonderful. On this site, signature lines aren't needed - I hope you will consider that in the future as I find your photos to be wonderful and detracted only by your signature lines.

Ditto with the signature line. Once I covered it up I was able to make a whole story in these kids expressions (the girl is pissed that the kid in the foreground just cheated her on the price of goldfish. the kid in the bottom left is scared that his fat friend is going to say something stupid and get in a fight with her.) The girl in the Mickey Mouse shirt looks so grown up standing that way. Must have been one great street fair!

I forgot to mention that she's lovely, with a certain "je ne sais quoi", that is quite captivating!

Great colors!
Cate (Cate Bennett) added a critique 1 year ago:
I have to agree that the colors are great, and very complementary to the photo as well as to the subject. I do disagree that it should be "touched up." I know that it very likely depends on the purpose of the photo (ie someone wanting an attractive professional photo of themselves, vs. a candid shot of someone). In this instance, the subject's "blemishes" identify her as real, and that she's a young woman -- very lovely and not perfect, human.

Very nice image to look at. She looks beautifully in your camera, the colors are really nice, and I think the same as Cate: no retouching needed. She's perfect as she is.
grayphotog added a critique 1 year ago:
Exquisite. I also disagree completely on touching up the subject. She looks wonderful and this is not a vanity portrait anyway. Her expression and the tilt of her head are both wonderful.
What I'd like to see is a shot with her isolated but still in context. It seems like a shot taken from a crowd (which it is) rather than setting her a bit apart in an even more timeless moment.
Still, two thumbs way up. Was this photo featued? It should have been.

I like how the bike is sharp and yet the leg is in motion. Good panning. Spokes made a cool design too.
msdedi (Linda) added a critique 1 year ago:
nice motion, could perhaps have used a slightly less tight crop... just enough so the whole wheel was present, minor point though... terrific capture
Cate (Cate Bennett) said 1 year ago:
Thanks for the feedback. I agree that my cropping was a bit off! Thanks, Cate
