well, I imagine something other than an Asian woman from Tibet-Mongolia.
Maybe that's why I didn't find the pic unsuccesful
Butter (Lukas K) added a critique 1 year ago:
I love the expression on her face...
Great pic.

Thanks so much for your comments ^^
Uncommondepth's story is almost correct. This woman is from Sichuan (near Tibet). She was on her way to the Buddhism temple that day. She was taking a rest and making tibet butter tea beside the road. Although we cannot communicate in language, but her smile told me that she agree to let me take her picture.
jseligman and SeekingFocus, thanks for your advises. I will have a try.

Thankx for featuring my picture

This guy has some wonderful character. His wispy hair and the sparkling bokeh behind him give this image a magical feel to me.
Looks like there's some dust and scratches on the photo, but for some reason I actually like to see that kind of thing.
photomaniac (Ovidiu Tutunaru) added a critique 1 year ago:
Good portrait! Maybe with a little more contrast...

I think I know what this is supposed to portray, but I agree, that with the tight focus that I want to know more context. This would be perfect if a tear was running down her cheek. As it is, she almost looks like she might be ready to sneeze and I know that is not your intent ;0)
PThree (Pascal Christ) added a critique 1 year ago:
that the ring for validity comes in such a way very beautifully
Butter (Lukas K) said 1 year ago:
She was actually sleeping...not sneezing :)
But this is my original, the shot is tight because I wanted to capture more of her face because the area surrounding her (she was sitting in a bus seat) wasn't very interesting.
I appreciate the comments though!
lbstone (Brandon Stone) added a critique 1 year ago:
I assumed she was in deep meditative thought... (I guess sleeping isn't too far removed from that.) ;)
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 10 months ago:
Just misses being a great shot - looks too much like she is going to sneeze.
Best,
Jon

Unfortunately I feel like I want more in this photo. I am not sure if the clouds or the light behind are strong enough on their own. I want the rays to be stronger or the clouds to have more depth or contrast.
Butter (Lukas K) added a critique 1 year ago:
I feel this photo may not be dramatic enough -- it doesn't say much.
Perhaps if either the light was stronger or another object was in the frame it would add to the photo.
kadenajack (Jack) added a critique 1 year ago:
I really like the bird. I'm afraid I agree with the previous two commenters about the drama of the shot. Some photoshop work might be able to really punch up the sky some. I'd also clone out that spot near the top. Looks like either sensor dust or something on the lens.
TheAntipodes (Menno van Zaanen) added a critique 1 year ago:
I like the rays of light, but the birds to me are a little bit too small. Perhaps concentrating more on the birds (and cutting out part of the sky) will make the birds stand out more.
jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 11 months ago:
This is a good effort - the bird is too small, in my opinion. The shot could use a little more puunch, but it is very pleasing just the same.

I like getting lost in the motion; I feel like I'm riding the horse.

I love shots like these...but like doilyboy said, I would add just a tad more light.
SUBJEKTIV (Sigrid Kleinecke & Kurt Tutschek) added a critique 1 year ago:
what a face! I'd also like to see a bit more of her hair, but it's an impressive portrait.

Worn minds in contrasty bw, it always works, isn't it? The task is to show this mind through the skin, and you did a great work here. Great shot.

I am not sure if I like where you cropped this- was there a reason you didn't show the entire bottle? I find my eye wants to travel downwards and not stop beneath the lettering. Beautiful lighting!
doilyboy (Martin Grey Gottlieb) added a critique 1 year ago:
The light and DOF are great here. Not really much contsuctive criticism I can give. Good shot.
Butter (Lukas K) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree with Kyla -- I would like to see the full bottle here.
I like how the shadows cut the bottle though, it gives it a unique shape.
SeekingFocus (Jason Langley) added a critique 1 year ago:
I really like the idea here of a really low-key still life sort of shot. Though I think there's a bit missing. Especially at the neck of the bottle, I wish there was b bit of an outline to separate it from the negative space beyond.
TheAntipodes (Menno van Zaanen) added a critique 1 year ago:
I first saw the top of the picture and I thought it was a picture of a painting. The dark reflections in the glass are just excellent.

I also like that he's not looking directly at the camera. I wish both eyes were in focus, but everything else is great.

Nice texture, pleasant colors. In my opinion the line would be in different position.
dcrphotography (Daniel) added a critique 1 year ago:
I think the subject are the colors, so I don't think this fits too well in the theme.
Butter (Lukas K) added a critique 1 year ago:
I would have the rail going down the middle of the frame...otherwise I like the shot -- especially the colors, they're relaxing.
gembase (frederic Michiels) added a critique 1 year ago:
I agree, the colors are great but the line should maybe placed in a different position.
Lindy (Lindy G) added a critique 1 year ago:
I love the colors and texture and am torn about the rail .. it is interesting on one hand .. and distracting on the other but I still like this alot!!
Trying to figure what this is!
