cute picture, with lots of energy...captures the attitude of kids very well...greatjob!

Neuner added a critique 7 months ago:

I think this could have been exceptional if the shot was dropped down some so there isn't as much white space up above, you didn't have the shadows behind them and it was exposed so that the white space was close to being blown out. I really like the expressions and the boy on the right moved forward from the others and out front.

BeppeRdam (Giuseppe Moscarda) added a critique 7 months ago:

I like the composition but maybe with more continuos shoting you could have got even more interesting faces expressions.

james_littlefox added a critique 5 months ago:

agree with BepperRdam, consecutive capture could result in even better face expressions.

snaps (Dana N) added a critique 4 months ago:

This shot makes me smile. Agree about the white spaces, but it's a fun image. Well done.

This is very well composited. Nothing to critizise for me.

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 7 months ago:

This works because it makes beautiful something very pedestrian.

Nice angle, I love the minimalis but I have some doubts on the expostion on the windows even if it is a quite difficult condition

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 7 months ago:

I agree with most of above. My complaint is the blown out highlight. I would like to see just a little more detail in the window.

joka (Johannes Kapp) added a critique 5 months ago:

Interesting scene, good composition, fine light and shadows! Compliments!

Bernhard,

What do you mean "but not a motive i like ;)" ?

Thanks for the comment!

BeppeRdam (Giuseppe Moscarda) added a critique 7 months ago:

I like the subject and the composition but it is a bit underexposed for my taste.

mikeock (Mike Adams) said 7 months ago:

Giuseppe,

Thanks for the comment. Subsequent rework of the image has changed the overall look to a somewhat more pleasing variation!

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 6 months ago:

Did you post the re-work somewhere? I like this one a lot, looks like my kind of place. Would be interested to see what you did with it.

beautiful portrait

mikeock (Mike Adams) added a critique 1 year ago:

Very good.
Great warm lighting with an interesting expression on the the subject face. IMO it could have used a bit less DOF to throw the background a bit more out of focus!

Topher (Christopher Mueller) added a critique 1 year ago:

Love the colors, the DOF, and especially the framing. Very nice capture to an otherwise boring portrait. Wouldn't change anything.

rverspirit (eddie mchugh) added a critique 1 year ago:

Great portrait....full of expression ..I really like the composition and dof treatment...a success!

BeppeRdam (Giuseppe Moscarda) added a critique 7 months ago:

excellent job, nothing specific to say. Well Done.

Pan left dude. He needs some lead room.

Topher (Christopher Mueller) added a critique 1 year ago:

I'd agree - more specifically, anytime I take a shot where I want to show some direction or movement, there's more space in that direction. So not only would this be more pleasing to me if he wasn't so centered, but to leave some space for his gaze. Great pic & timing otherwise, very sharp and just enough contrast. Big thing about portraits for me is to capture their character; you've done that here for me.

BeppeRdam (Giuseppe Moscarda) added a critique 7 months ago:

very nice expression well captured, maybe a square crop would have be even better? I don't know really

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 8 months ago:

I would like to see some more room to the left of his hand. The highlights are blown out.

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 8 months ago:

The crop is tighter than necessary, I think. The photo is a little static and nothing really grabs me in this shot. Interesting subject - should say more, but does not - at least to me.

Best,
Jon

smucha (shannon mucha) added a critique 8 months ago:

Great expression you've captured. Really nice colors throughout the photo as well.

BeppeRdam (Giuseppe Moscarda) added a critique 7 months ago:

good opportunity but the crop should be larger or closer. Personally I believe a closer one would be preferable

a heartbreaking photo, i would have croped the bottom

JeBeKe (Jan Verbeke) said 7 months ago:

Valid remark, Tomer. Thx.

prometheus (Thomas) added a critique 7 months ago:

Beautiful shot indeed. I would have cropped a little of the top, too. Becaus the part of the fave behind disturbes a little bit

ScottCrouse (Scott Crouse) added a critique 7 months ago:

A much closer crop would be more effective.

BeppeRdam (Giuseppe Moscarda) added a critique 7 months ago:

good capture but not closed enought to comunicate very strong emotions

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 7 months ago:

I would try a little lens distortion correction. Most architecture shots are more rectilinear. The composition feels unbalanced but not sure what to suggest. The rocks in the lower left don't gain anything, but if you crop you loose the edge of the opening in the wall. Maybe a different camera position a little more to the right?? With no contrast in the upper area, the blurred vignette on the bottom corners just looks like a mistake, imo.

AnaGaztelu (Ana Gaztelu) added a critique 7 months ago:

Me gusta el ángulo y el espejo en que se convierte la gran ventana. En la parte técnica estoy de acuerdo con Clyde.
Saludos.

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 7 months ago:

I like this - Clyde is correct, I think, in his advice. Nonetheless, this is a strong composition and succeeds despite its minimal shortcomings.

Best,
jon

xLeave (Boris Dozorets) added a critique 7 months ago:

nice light,
but i think it works only in set of photos

BeppeRdam (Giuseppe Moscarda) added a critique 7 months ago:

good capture, the composition leaves me some doubts at the left part... too empty and makes me wonder what's at the right side, maybe something more interesting?

ScottCrouse (Scott Crouse) said 7 months ago:

Always like "urban decay" type shots. This one is nice, love the different colours in the pealing paint.

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 7 months ago:

If you are to include the object at the left edge of frame, then you should explore it more. The way you have the framing, it's just distracting. There are at least 4 areas of this scene that you could explore more selectively and have better impact than this, which just comes across a bit busy.

jvgphoto (jon van gilder) added a critique 7 months ago:

I would like to see this much darker - this is a "nice" light on a subject that is not so nice!

Best,
jon

BeppeRdam (Giuseppe Moscarda) added a critique 7 months ago:

I agree with Beamer, the item on the left is a quite significative distraction.

Beamer (Clyde Beamer) added a critique 9 months ago:

Tilt up a bit and you wouldn't have the one girls head just tangent with the top of frame. All the interest is their faces and hands, the bottom of frame is not gaining you anything. Also, a bit to the right a you would include the no smoking sign better too.

sfkp (Tamara) added a critique 9 months ago:

The no-smoking sign is really a pity, indeed. I don't mind the girls head is tanglent with the top of the frame, it is exectly right this way. I like this picture becouse the dansers/actors/... have so mutch expression and dedication.

shivahuja (shiv ahuja) said 9 months ago:

thanks guys..!
@beamer,i really didnt think about the no smoking sign up until you mentioned it..!

BeppeRdam (Giuseppe Moscarda) added a critique 7 months ago:

excellent capture but I would like to criticise the crop which almost cut the right actress head.
A bit of higher crop would be nicer.
